Please Seperate Sections.

The R3 and the Radias aren't the same synth.
They might be based on the same arc, but are still not the same.

I am tired of fishing through a bunch of people whining about their RADIAS and weird n00bstick midi problems, while trying to find info about the R3.

Just a thought.

Are the R3 and Microkorg in the same section? No.
And they are far more similar.

I agree... granted I've used the radias I don't own it... I'd like to just have the R3 or Radias...

Yes, it is time for the R3 to leave and find its own catagory...

Where are they similar? OK, they are compact, they have a gooseneck mic and they have both 37 keys. But that's all. R3 is based on the synth engine of the Radias. It makes absolutely sense to combine R3 and Radias in one sub forum.

I think R3 and Radias should have been different forums, as they are quite different synths to use so that users will experience different problems.

However, I think it might be too late - splitting this section into two and moving all R3 threads to a new R3 section sounds like a lot of work.

Please vote and post your thoughts on this ... it is 'do-able'. There are good reasons for be together and separate in my opinion, so it would be interesting to read what others think.

Thanks,

Daz.

I like the idea of separation. Mainly for the ease of browsing through stuff.
R3 can´t even read Radias patches (what i´ve read).

EDIT: The triton has many sections :P (same relevance as this)

A split would be nice for RADIAS owners--this has always been a great source for new RADIAS ideas/patches/some demos and now I find it constantly barraged by R3 questions.
The RADIAS feel more like a sythetist's instrument while the R3 is more a quickie in and out kind of preset buddy. I own a MicroKORG and, although I know it shares the same engine as the MS2000 I don't think I'm quite as likely to delve into creative synthesis with five knobs as I am with a whole bunch.
I'm not against the R3 either--with it being $450 I find myself irrationally attracted to it. (I have a RADIAS! What will I do with an R3?)

My first thought was whatever but after waiting a few hours to post I would also prefer a split. I enjoy reading posts on the programming of the Radias and how others have developed new patches. I have enough other romplers so the R3 isn't of any real interest to me. I am hoping that we could actually setup a patch area on here for the Radias c/w mp3's.

I like a special section for the Radias, now i've to search through the topics and sometimes even open them to see if they are for the Radias.

I like this idea.
Why? Because R3 and Radias are not the same... they just use the same technology - I know my Radias, but If somebody asks something about R3, I just don't know what to say...

For me, all R3 posts are junk - because I gain nothing from them, and I can't help people with their questions.

Moving all post is possible, if somebody is willing to do it - or you could just start over again.

I voted yes.I just bought an R3 and i'm searching for info specific to the R3 and there a lot of posts to wade through.I even searched for "Korg R3" after seeing this thread but still a lot of the posts returned were for the radias as well.

As a new user it would be much easier to find info specific to the R3 if it had it's own forum. No doubt the same would apply to the Radias :)

Being a korg R3 newbie, I don't really want to know about the Radias. I bought an R3 and want to pitch in info where I can and be able to quickly skim for new R3 info (e.g. patches). Reality is, i've spent quite a bit of time clicking into messages only to find out they are Radias-related.

It would be cool if messages could be tagged "r3" or "Radias" or both and we could sort. Otherwise, an R3 section would be nice to have. Thanks.

I oppose. Don't leave me. I don't want to be left alone in this cold, lonely Radias world.
