for some reason the audio in effects dont seem to effect the input... I assumed that if I had the oscillator in combo on and the notes pressed to sequence my external audio this would trigger it. I referred to the manual is there something I'm doing wrong?

Weird !! i dunno , i just go intostep edit and put a note in the first step then edit the note length to suit with the audio-in+comb selected and "line" selected at the back or "mic" for ... mic , lol.

try that maybe n take it from there , see if that helps .

ok so I had synth part 1 pressed and comb + filter assigned and on the first step pressed with the note length at 16 All I can here is the audio in dry... Now when I turn the oscillator to another setting such as wavform I hear my audio in source and the wavform at the same time...Could I have a defected unit or something???

nope...you don´t understand the audio routing man...

in the EMX the audio IN can go thru 2 paths:

1. with the AUDIO THRU ON (lite) the audio in signal goes to the audio OUT just mixed with the EMX intenal generated audio (synths + drums)

2. with the AUDIO THRU OFF then the audio INcould be routed to the synth parts and could be heard ONLY IF YOU CHOOSE the AUDIO IN + COMB OSCILLATOR mode...other oscillators doesn´t all>ows you to route the audio IN thru the synth parts

so when you choose that oscillator, then the EMX doesn´t generate sound in this synth parts...it uses the audio IN instead....OK???

since any synth parts uses a synthesis paths that goes:

OSCILLATOR > FILTER > AMP > FX (if you turn on the send button)

then in order to hear your audio input thru the FX you have to sacrifice the OSCILLATOR part and repalce it with your INPUT signal...you got that by sellect the AUDIO IN + COMB mode...OK?

so you have the audio IN instead of an EMX´s own oscillator, so your audio IN pass thru the FILTER and then AMP and then FX, OK?

so you have to trigger the AMP EG with a step on in order to get that AMP open and let the sound comming from the filter (and OSC) goes to the out to be heard

then if you got the step pressed to trigger the EG that opens the AMP, and you got the audio comming into the EMX via the INPUT , then you have to hear that input

turn OFF that AUDIO INPUT THRU in order to get the AUDIO IN comming thru the synth part...YOU CAN´T GET FX ON THE AUDIO INPUT IF YOU GOT THE AUDIO INPUT THRU ON

DON´T CHANGE THE OSC MODE BECAUSE THE OTHER MODES CAN´T ALLOWS AUDIO IN PASS THRU FILTER > AMP > FX

so now...just pres the SEND button on that part, press play on your EMX and you´ll get your effected audio input

Thanks for this clear explanation.. Helped me work it out when setting up my audio in on my emx
