Hi dear Nedim,

Could you please explain how to creat a style in for example sonar or cubase? Is it easier than making it on keyboard?

I recomend you Cubase, Reason cant do that. As for how to make them i
cant tell you how to work with the software itself, thats a lot of typing.
But in the software you create regular MIDI files and then on the PA800
with the IMPORT SMF function you create a style from the same MIDI.
And yes, its easier.

Creating styles from SMF files is covered in some detail in the "Korg Arranger Secrets" DVD's that are now available. See the sticky thread.

Hi,
another pc sequencer that may be of interest is
PG's Power Tracks pro audio 12 for creating midifiles for styles or for editing.
Fairly reasonably priced as well. Plus there's a demo. It can even use Band in a Box "Real Drums" audio loops.

One thing I like about it for editing is, that it can split up a midi drum track into individual tracks .
ie drum tracks are on track 10, midi channel 10, when you split the track
the bass drums will be on the next empty track ( just say track 17, midi channel 10), the snares on the next track ( track 18, midi channel 10) , the hihats (track 19midi channel 10) etc etc
What this allows you to do is alter the velocities of a complete track ie bass drums playing too loud, decrease the velocity. Itsaves having to edit individual drum notes.
Plus by transposing a split drum track up or down you can change the type of drum instrument.
Handy when converting a psr style drum track (xg mapped) to korg drum mapping.

best wishes
Rikki
