Fun With RPPR! =]

Heya all,
I've just been playing with the Drumkit Presets (RPPR) and i decided to see what they would sound like if I tried them with a bass. And it was actually really cool! :D
I put it so it matched the drumkit and now my bass i completely on time with the beat and sounds great. I tried to do this with other instruments and it actually worked! It was cool with bells or a Synth....etc! :D
Obviously some of the presets dont work cause their off key or to high..etc. But you can find a bunch of em that sound really cool!

many times i and all of my friends and musicians think: "Why don't DJs use RPPR technology instead of Turntables and cds" ?

Maybe because KORG doesn't care much about advertising with videos, like Roland and Yamaha!!

In alot of ways, the Karma effect is RPPR on steroids. I remember the RPPR on the N series when I first heard and loved it. I started thinking about the things you could do and now with Karma, that is being realized. I just wish I had more time with my Oasys.
And there was this one time at band camp......

The RPPR Section is awesome its the Only aspect of the sequencer I use,synced up to my external sequencer and trigger the Keys in the Oasys,I used to use the RPPR on the Triton when I was playing some live gigs to drop in and out phrases,and Loops,real convenient and easy to change the groove of a track.

its also Useful for recording Just CC data too and trigger timbre changes to sounds as well,which is great so you don't have to always do it via the Realtime Knobs,record your CC data into a pattern and trigger it with a Key instead,I usually have about an octave of Keys setup for just triggering CC's

The thing I like about RPPR rather than Karma is how it matches the beat. you can set it sot that the the instrument will match it! supa cool for a climax and a dance song! =}

It's ultimate tool for Club/Dance Music.

I haven't yet tried it Live but I have always thought that it would be perfect! you can virtual play a whole song just using the keys! :D

Hey Daz, what is Ableton Live? is it a computer program or...?

It's a really inspirational audio and MIDI sequencer that runs on PCs and Macs.

It's a very direct and musical way of composing, recording, jamming ... with no lists of confusing numbers anywhere in sight ;-)

Live 7 is now available ! Just got it myself, upgrade from Live 6.

The new External Instrument feature, which supports freezing (unlike Logic), is a real help with the Oasys arranger-style synth programming environment. You can just freeze what you're doing multi-timbrally, and drop into Program mode to actually use stuff like the MS20 properly. Works an absolute treat; thank you Ableton so much, for putting the musician and creativity first 8)
