Preparing to Sell House - What to do with my Oasys?!

Post by MarkF786 »

I live in a small townhouse and have all my equipment, along with thee large bookshelves and computer desk, stuffed into a small den. I have my first-born due in January, and I'm thinking of selling my house so I need to de-clutter it for when I put my house on the market.

The OASYS, along with with my monitors, stand, and various other accessories, take up a huge amount of room, so I'm wondering what to do with it...

I've thought of two options:

- Sell my OASYS (I've been looking to sell it to get an O76 anyway) and get back into the game later.

- Put my OASYS in climate-controlled storage - but I really don't know if it's safe to store something like the OASYS. Even though it's climate-controlled, the temperature ranges from 55-85 degrees Fahrenheit.

Any suggestions? Has anyone ever stored synths or other music equipment in climate-controller storage before?

I'm kinda bummed, but at least I'll have space for a Christmas tree this year

The operating temperature range is specified at 5 to 35 degrees C (41-95 degrees F). The storage range is not specified, but I would expect that it should be even greater.

Hi Mark,

Maybe I can help you out here? I have an Oasys 76 and plenty of room to house an 88.
If you would like, I can hold on to it for as long as you need.

Only kidding of course! Best wishes for the new arrival and the home sale.

Mark,

You have been waffling about your OASYS for a few months now. I would suggest selling it, then potentially buying one a few years from now.

Maybe rent the machine to a studio that you'd trust and for the right price
with a very specific written contract as to price/mo. , who covers any damage etc. …… unless, of course you simply need a lump sum to help
fund your upcomng life changes
