Korg KKS concept is very inovative...
As I already mentioned, I would like to have small keyboard for travell...
Korg, why don't you add a 37 keys keyboard WITH AFTERTOUCH?

:?:
Thank you

There isn't a demand for this. The great majority of people using under 61 keys are playing sounds or simple solos. Aftertouch isn't a big deal for them.

True. But I'd still love to see the ultimate no-sound controller keyboard, preferrably done by KORG, with these features:

- 76 semi-weighted keys
- program up and down keys
- SW1/2 keys
- slider
- joystick and knob, Kurzweil style
- 8-16 fully programmable, motorized sliders (let's say 8 for organ, 8 for other stuff)
- 8-16 fully programmable motorized knobs
- display panel with one single row, all editing done on computer and uploading via USB
- empty PROG/COMBI/SAMPLING mode, fully programmable, including the MIDI IN/OUT features
- USB connection
- three to four MIDI OUT ports, fully programmable within PROG/COMBI/SAMPLING mode
- three-four assignable pedals, damper
- vector joystick
- 8-16 touch-sensitive fully programmable pads
- scenes within each program/combi in PROG/COMBI/SAMPLING mode, every scene with different possible pad assignments

It would be hugely cool if it had a sampler inside with, for example, 4GB of sample memory and uploading via USB/FW/built-in hard drive :-)

Just my 2c.

Cheers,
vEddY.

P.S. Superb signature, American Pie? ;)

Well, aftertouch is a big deal for me! I have a Clavia Modular G2 as desktop keyboard, but I would prefer a 3 octave keyboard with the excellent action of the M3. Aftertouch is THE WAY to trigger vibrato, and use the modulation wheel or the joystick for more esoteric effects...

just my opinion of course...

this means the assertion "there is no market" is not so obvious as some think.
More over, the "market" is linked to offer vs demand and cost vs price...
You can sell a 37 k at a price close to a 61... and find a demand linked to people moving a lot!

That's just it though. The sales for something along this versus what it cost to make would be very soft. The great majority of people will go for more keys instead of less. Korg has also been down this road in a sense with the Micro X and the results speak for themselves. Not saying the instrument is bad just the demand in comparison of other products.

M3 Keyboard are not as of poor quality than Micro X which is more of toy facture!
37 keys with aftertouch doesn't exist...
look at akai with MPK49;
there is place for innovation!

I agree that there isn't a need for a 37 key keyboard with after touch. I agree the need and demand are not there. If you look at the way people use those smaller keyboards, they isn't that need. This is something that I've heard from both Phil Clendenon of Yamaha and Jeff Dunmire of Young Chang who partner with Kurzweil. After hearing both these gentlemen tell me about the marketing and development aspects of their keyboards I'm convinced the needs isn't there and that the development of these keyboards would be money losers for them.

thanks for this link.
Keyboards seem to be very powerfull.
Nevertheless you can't attach your KKS M3 rack to it...
And that is what I am looking for....
I don't understand why korg does not deliver true "Komponents"...
