Nice. Finally the wait is over. I'll update the unit over this weekend and checkout the features.

This is much welcomed news .

I hope there will be many users that can demonstrate the new features etc when they get a chance and share their experience on the forum.

The major sticking point for me was the lack of a fully feature packed Sequencer and quick recorder and style editor . It's stuff I use all the time to try out new ideas with my band and choir . It's features that should have been carried over from the PA4X.

I was really put off by the lack of these key features and so I am more interested in the Pa5x . Those of you that have been so patient and waited for this substantial update, I hope it really does satisfy you. Your patience is admirable and far exceeds my own.

But I will wait and see how you guys get on with the new update and then maybe wait a bit longer

Excellent news for those that currently hold this beautiful instrument. I am very jealous just for the fact that you now have a new toy essentially.

I will watch and wait and we'll see what happens. A new keyboard might be in my future, who knows?

Decided to fire up my Korg Pa5X after downloading the new OS Release.

Wary of forgetting the instructions as it's not a regular operation (I like to spend time playing rather than keeping everything neat and tidy behind the scenes). I kept a brief note of my process:

Having the new OS download on a USB stick, it went like this:

1 Install new OS appox time - 1m 8s

2 Re-boot - (automatic) 3m (now ready to play)

3 Load my resources -
Song Book (large)
PCM sounds (few) 1m 30s

4 Re-start (from cold) 45s

I was playing a few favourite numbers within 10 mins. The voices sounded better than ever (maybe I had the volume up a little?)

5 Write / save new backup file 1m 20s

Having read many of the problems reported by users with much greater experience of PA keyboards than I, I can only hope that the developments of the OS & UI help resolve at least some of their difficulties. Best wishes and great music to you all...

I will wait a week or two or longer until am sure there are no unseen problems , I have already heard about a few but not yet clear of the cause

I'm going to wait a few weeks to update to 1.4. I'm sure Korg will come out with a v1.4.1 hopefully to fix major bugs. For what it's worth there were 4 months between v1.3.0 and v1.3.1...
