I've been trying Chatgpt and the forum - what is the best setting to sample sounds for the Kronos (bit rate, frequency)?
Why I am asking, I sampled with SampleRobot some virtual instrument on my PC (a piano sound).
These wav files sound perfect.
When playing them from the Kronos (not as a wav file but converted to the Kronos sample format) I can hear a slight fuzzy sound, aliasing maybe in the higher frequencies. Very subtle but audible.
This is not present on the original wav file on the PC.
On the Kronos I checked that in the Amp section the drive/boost part is switched/ticked off.
Also no EFX such like an Amp is used either.
Also the normal Kronos sounds don't have this issue, so it's not due to my headphone setup.
Could it be that the export process within SampleRobot (SR) did something to the files?
Or that in SR the "High Quality Resampling (recommended)", which was used, can cause this issue?
Should I make sure that the whole process uses the same bit rate and kHz in order to avoid back and forth resampling?
Which then, 16 bit, and 44 or 48 kHz ?

Re: Best sample format? (SampleRobot)
16 bit is only supported by Korg format protocol and maximum 48 KHz in order KSC/KFC conversion to be done properly
when imported as wav files.
Sample Robot v6.6 works fine AFAIK , but I do not use it though.

Thanks Sharmman, am not importing wavs into the Kronos but a "prefab" KCS/KFC/KSF? (getting hungry nowAntonySharmman wrote: ↑Thu Jun 26, 2025 9:34 am 16 bit is only supported by Korg format protocol and maximum 48 KHz in order KSC/KFC conversion to be done properly

Am afraid there is no SR forum as such to be found.

Re: Best sample format? (SampleRobot)
I do not import either , I'm sound developer and work SF2 intermediate format for importing Kronos
since my projects are made first in Kontakt sampler since I own samples and do not resample others.
But the the essential in sample robot is to open Extras/Preferences and set multisamples I/O at
48KHz stereo 16 bit , this works with Kronos if all other prerequisites are correct to be supported.
