hi, I'm trying to get the "scream" sound from the kronos saved onto a usb stick as a wav file so that I can load it into my modx. I'm guessing I have to resample the scream but how do I get it to save onto the usb as a wav? ty!

The first thing to do to simply create a .WAV file recording, is to go to the Audio In/Sampling settings tab for the Program or Combi that's being used to generate the desired sound, and selecting the source as the L/R Bus, Mode as Stereo, and selecting Save to: as Disk. The last bit is important, because it ensures that the recorded sound is recorded to disk, rather than residing in the Kronos RAM.

Next, press the Sampling Rec button on the far right of the keyboard and then the Start/Stop button below it. The recording will start based on the relevant sampling Trigger settings in the Program or Combi Audio in/Sampling settings tab e.g. Immediate, or Note-on.

Once the recording has started, press Start/Stop again to stop the recording of the sample. Once recording is finished, use Disk mode to locate the file(s) created. They will be named something like TAKEN001.WAV. If the file is selected, it can be played back by pressing the Start/Stop button below the Sampling Rec button. These files can then be copied to a memory stick, using the Disk Mode | Utilities tab, and the screen top right drop down menus. The WAV file data will be 48kHz sampling rate (1536kbps) so bit rate conversion to 44.1kHz may be necessary if the playback speed or pitch seems odd. The Kronos can perform the sample rate conversion.

This is by far the simplest way of getting a sound, or a musical idea, quickly saved as a .WAV file, and it's not described in the manual. The method can also be used in Sequencer mode.
