Hunt for original voice list for M3R

Post by Robyne »

Hi,
I'm new to the forum. I have a Korg M3R and am trying to find a download for its original voice list which included some excellent sounds like Lore and Hammer.
Would greatly appreciate any guidance!

Welcome to the forum.

According to Korg Support, the factory preload can be restored by going to Global screen 5D, pressing “OK”, then selecting "OK."

The M3R Owner's Manual gives the same info for performing a Preset Data Load.

Don't forget to back up the existing data first.

The "Korg Synths (General)" section seems to be the place people tend to post about the M3R.

Thanks for that info.
I've done a factory reset, now I'm thinking the sounds I am after were not part of the original presets. My hunt for lore and hammer continues :)

Lore and Hammer should be present as factory Multisounds, which are stored in ROM. Maybe the Programs containing those sounds were called something else.

Here's a link to the original factory Programs in SysEx format:

Finding a definitive factory Programs list seems to be impossible. The best I could find was here (it has a Facebook link which may prove more fruitful):

Thanks Voip!

It's been literally decades since I've played around with my M3R, I had just forgotten how to access these sounds. I've just come across them now, all I have to do to is remember how I got here!

Thanks again for your help!
