I'm actually very impressed with the Pa5x. I've had the the 2x and 4x for many years and the 5x looks to be a great upgrade. The styles and voices sound amazing.
Is it really such a BAD instrument???

PA5X is Not BAD, it,s missing the features we need.
We all hope that it will be adressed soon.
but BAD NO WAY!

That's reassuring; I know there are growing pains, but the instrument sounds amazing. As long as I can migrate my Pa4x Sets and Songbook into the 5x, I should be content. Is that doable?
I should add, I'm looking at the Pa5x, the Ketron Event, and the Genos 2 and trying to decide which to go with.

Event is a loop player with very old sound modul... Play with styles or midi without audio and you will see what I mean....
Genos 2 - like we now know - could be a Genos 1 with a OS update

But everyone can choose what they want.

I'm "relatively" happy with my PA5X-88 even though I waited six months for the darned thing.
Just a few minor issues that annoy me, but otherwise happy ... at least with version 1.2.0 ... I'll wait a little while before applying 1.2.1 though.
I mostly use it in "sound edit" mode though with a few execeptions, since I use a loopstation externally... I only sometimes use the "arranger" mode when I want to layer sounds or program a specific sequence.

I've been happy with the Pa5x since day one. I've hardly had any issues with mine apart from a couple of silly niggles before any of the updates. So far it's my favourite arranger I have but I do have a Genos2 looming so that will be interesting!

No, not really. Unless you are a sound developer, but it looks like that may have been addressed as well.

Hi,
I own a PA5X but have not been playing it that often due to an extension build on my house (which has been going on since April). It's more or less finished so hope to get more playing time soon. I really don't regret my purchase, although it's dropped in price since I bought it. Even if I loved the Genos 2, the price (£5,000 U.K. is ludicrous) would be far too high for me.
Last night I travelled from London to Ascot Keyboard Club and heard Rod Pooley play a Concert with just a PA5X (76 note) and a set of Monitor speakers. He played for over 90 mins without a single issue or glitch occurring. He is such a talented keyboard player who has joined the U.K. Korg Team and showed how good the keyboard can sound and also how general playing is not hampered by some of the O/S issues not yet dealt with by Korg.

I think it’s a superb instrument. I have the 88 key version and absolutely love it. It’s a great digital piano and a world class arranger in one instrument combined. I don’t have any issues with it. And over time I’m convinced Korg will come up with system upgrades / extensions and extra styles and sounds. No complaints here, but I’m just a hobbyist playing for fun.

It is nice to read so many positive comments about the Pa5X, especially now that there is one on its way to my address.
I've spent a lot of time reading and watching videos, so now I'm looking forward to putting theory into practice.
In fact, it was my relatively brief acquaintance with the Pa4X that made me go for the Pa5X instead of changing the G1 to the G2, and I'm reasonably sure that it will be a very good combination that will bring a lot of joy.
The prey of Genos will have to wait until the desire and the temptation become too heavy to resist.

I hope that I don't start talk in my sleep so that my wife hears it, if I do, then I won't get to experience whether it is easier to get forgiveness than permission.

You’ve already bought the instrument . It’s a bit redundant to ask if it’s really that bad …. If you need the affirmation of others then I can add that it’s probably going to be a terrific purchase for you so long as you do t place too many demands on the instrument other than selecting styles and sounds as provided from the factory , and you don’t try to be too creative with editing .
Listen , I wish you many years of happiness with your instrument or if it doesn’t work out for you, at least that you don’t lose too much money on it .
Have a great Christmas
