Using samples in sequence mode

Hi all. This was first posted in the M3 forum. Assuming this is possible I thought I may get more responses over here. Also I realize there are no pads on the Nautilus. I have a combi set up where i have a sample assigned to one of the pads. I want to copy that combi into the sequencer maintaining the capability of starting the sample from the pad. I am also using a pattern assigned to one of the keys. I cannot get the sample to play. Any help is appreciated.
