Volume Fader Signal Attenuation Greater Left vs Right

Hello,

I have a Korg Triton Extreme 76 variant with a small technical (electronic) issue. When playing the keyboard on most regular (non synth articulated patches, e.g. pianos) there is a discernable difference in output volume between the left and right channels. The Left channel is noticeably louder in volume that is until the Triton volume fader is raised to around 85%.

The same result can be observed/heard when using headphones (assuming the headphone socket is pretty much fed from the main output paths).

On a fact finding mission to determine if other folk have experienced similar issues on either same model or other KORG workstation models.

Assuming you have verified it’s not the actual programming on the patches you are using and that even an INIT patch has a difference in the L and R volume wise, then it could be something as silly as a 20 cent resistor in the signal path that needs replacing. They don’t last forever.

If that’s the case, it should be easy for anyone with a service manual to identify which resistor does what and replace it. Best to bring it into a repair shop if they have someone on staff able to fix problems like this. There's not much to it once you know what resistor is at fault. I fixed my own KORG Trinity years ago which had the same problem.
