Good Deal on an OASYS - or not?

Post by davekalbach »

I came across what I think would be a great deal on an OASYS 88 Key in really good condition.

I currently own a Kronos 2, so I don't think the OASYS would give me anything I don't already have. My next intended purchase would be an arranger along the lines of a Pa4X.

Does the OASYS have, or can the OASYS function like an arranger? Or am I just duplicating what I already have with the Kronos?

The Kronos is more like Oasys 2.0. The Oasys does not have the arranger functionality of the Pa4X, but it does have a very nice interface, with LEDs showing the "positions" of the sliders and control surface knobs, a large tiltable screen (albeit lower resolution than the Kronos).

The Kronos and the Oasys are more similar than different. The PA4X or whatever comes next from Korg (possibly later this year) would be a better and more complementary option.
