Hi guys,

I have a microArranger with qoite a few .SETs on a sd card.
I'm looking for a way to edit these sets:

- move a style from one set to another
- rename a style
- remove a style if possible

Nothing more; basically I just want to organize them a bit.
I'm aware of the PA Manager software, but it's kind of pricey. I'd rather buy a second, smarter Korg as long as it's capable of doing those things above.
Can you recommend a model ? Is PA700 capable of doing this and still maintaining the mA/PA50 compatibility ?

Thanks,
Marius

Hi Marius

Using the SD card you can carry out most if not all the tasks you mention using the Micro Arranger and your Computer.

It can be a bit long winded but it is possible.

Hi Saswick,

How can I do that ? With what software ?

All I can see in file explorer is USER1.sty, USER2.sty etc.
I would like to manage the individual styles inside -say- USER1.sty, delete some of them or maybe move to USER2.sty

The point is this: I have quite a LOT of USERx.STY downloaded from the net, but most of the styles inside them are rubbish. I'd like to extract & aggregate the ones worth keeping into another set of USERx.sty files.

In the meantime I've got my hands on a spectacular Korg PA900 of which I'm already very much inlove :)
I'll read the manual to see if it can do this.

Thanks,
Marius

Hi Marius

AS I said it is a bit fiddly. No software required.

I've only just acquired a Micro Arranger but I've had them before.

Rough procedure is:

First very important backup your data.

1. Copy your donor set on to an SD card.

2. Using the SD card system load the styles you wish to move from the
donor into USER01, USER02 or USER03 in the Micro Arranger.

3. Repeat the above using different donor sets

4. Save the amended USER01, USER02 or USER03 to a new set.

You can rearrange USER01, USER02 or USER03 from different set's
on your computer.

As I said it takes quite a time and a lot of patience.

Best of luck

Saswick,
Wow, I can't believe I missed this bit:
Go to SD Card, navigate to some USER1.STY, and instead of hitting Load, pres Open and it will show the styles within it. Now I can load an individual style on any position I wish :)
Great info, thanks for your help.
Like you said, it's a little tedious, but that's also fun, ain't it so ?

Hi Marius

Glad you found the info useful, I think a lot of other users
are not aware of the facility.
