It's a Wavestation with knobs trapped in a Minilogue case with 37 keys, no aftertouch and a wall wart. Wavetable softsynths are the hottest thing in the plugin world, so Korg is boarding the gravy train. Take that, Serum!!!

Wavetable and wave sequencing are quite different and can lead to very different results.

Serum let you import audio directly from audio files, Wavetable does not.
That means Serum is still a winner when comes to ORIGINALITY and UNIQUENESS. When Yiannis Chryssomallis got hands on Korg Krome, he deleted all the patches, only to load his own creations, originality first, the rest comes second.

One cool thing about Prologue and the SDK to make user oscillators.

They could make something like that for wavetables as well, to have 3rd party stuff.

As there is for Prologue, some would be free from some folks. And i bought a couple too for Prologue - no problem.

I have no clue if actually needed in Wavestate, but headroom is always nice.

Yes, and I would add that Serum can handle true wavemorphing and generates very interesting waveforms that can be sampled then into the Kronos and then, why not, added in Wavesequences. Very interesting possibilities !

Guys i'm really not sure that its cost that money, after listening the demos

The average person doesn't differentiate between wavetables in a synth like Xerum and wave sequencing anyway.

It's really kind of sad...there's TONS new, but some seem too lazy to even read or listen. Shame when a synth gets better reception at GS than the Korg forums...

Wavestate makes the old wavestation seem simple, yet is way more approachable and easier to program and interact with realtime controls...with modeled filters of korg classics and tons more(the original had a non resonant lpf, look at all the filter typed in the wavestate!) Wavesequencing 2.0(look at how many lanes and more), huge sample rom and an interface that begs to be tweaked. The wavestate is leagues more advanced for the concept. I will be buying one!

I really like the concept of the Wavestate, but do not like the form factor. Three ocatves is not a viable size for me (3 is OK for a soloing instrument like the Mini Moog). Also I literally have no room in my studio for more keyboards or modules; not without selling other items first to make room!

So (want, want, want ) I would love to see the Wavestate appear as a VST (if you can do it with the original Wavestation....) and I would snap it up in an instant. I doubt it would ever happen, but putting this into the Kronos HD-1 engine would be absolute Nirvana and worthy of a paid upgade. But I would settle for a VST version, I'm not greedy....

All subjective opinions of course.

Looks like Korg have been the busiest manufacturer in terms of product releases at NAMM.
