DS-DAC 100 can't play YouTube

Hi, I'm a new owner of a DS-DAC 100. The instructions for playing YouTube assume it will work, but after installing 1.0.5 driver and 1.0.6 firmware it's outputting no signal to my amplifier connected to my speakers. Am I doomed to being able to use this fine DAC with AudioGate 4 only? If I knew this would happen I would have chosen something else.
