NOT RECOMENDED, I have them in my arsenal, KORG is to poor with sound, and YAMAHA styles are to complex.
it can be done, but not the same taste like on the Yamy!
Yamaha is reala Deep in sound, KORG is not bad Kb at all, but the sound and style quality is amazing in YAMAHA.

The 4x goes head to head with the Genos on every sound. You can use a Tyros translation software to convert Genos styles to Korg; they will play just fine.
"Korg is too poor with sound" - You've got to be kidding me with this answer. Geesh!

+1 (think it's a joke???)
...and PA4X style structure is way more advanced hence it's more authentic styles
Pulling Tyros (sorry - Genos) styles into PA4X would be a difficult job - MIDI to MIDI (with a lot of work) should be partially OK
IMHO it's a backward step.
Are there any styles (genres) in particular you are needing on your PA4X we can help with?

Hi Guys,
I know this is going slightly off thread, but having been a previous Tyros 2, 4 and 5 owner and now a very happy PA4X owner, the only thing I miss from the Tyros keyboards and would love to have on the PA4X (if it's actually possible) is the beautiful Boy's choir voice. I have given a link to the sound which is played by Martin Harris. Listen from 48 seconds in when he plays Abide with me.
I have checked out all the PA4X choir sounds and sadly nothing comes close (for me anyway). If anyone knows how I can get this sound (I'm happy to pay) I would be really grateful.

Hi Pete,
Unfortunately not, as I got rid of my Yamaha arrangers to go with Korg.
If anybody knows a way of getting this sound onto a PA4X (I know that some smart people use these Forums) I would be more than happy to pay for this sound (or something very similar).

if someone has a Tyros 4 or 5 it could be easy sampled.

I have a Tyros 4 and it is about to go to GuitarCenter as a trade for my new PA4X. What do you need from me to get your voice downloaded?

There is a few PC software to make automaticly multisamples in SF2 or Korg KMP format from hardwareinstruments: ESC or Sample Robot or Chickensys Translator.
Then one can import this kmp's or SF2 into PA4X Sampling RAM.

There is a very good free program called Viena (with 1 n) to convert wav files to sf2.
The only thing you need is per sound/voice is 64 sample files of every note in the TYROS.
Each file of about 3 or 4 seconds. That results in a huge amount of Mbites in the sf2!
You can use 1 file per octave for less Mbits and even sometimes 2 or 3 samples on the 64 notes.
It's a matter of try and error.
If you play sounds with a keyboard split, you can consider to use only samples for the righthand octaves.
All for less Mbites.

Created with factory PA4X samples...
Of course Qui is a professional sound engineer!
Waiting for him to make these beautiful sound sets available one of these days.

Hi Fransman,
I will purchase the software from Qui when he makes it available. He deserves that with the efforts he's put in.

Hi Ex Tyros Fan,
I'm not sure what I can do myself as I do not have a Tyros keyboard anymore.
I just think that if somehow the sample could be made available for other Korg users that I would not be the only person to enjoy this beautiful sound.
