I'm Looking into upgrading from my pa900, I'm thinking about the pa3x or the pa1000. I can get the pa1000 for $2000 or the pa3x fully loaded (sounds, styles, performances, etc.) for $3000. (part of what I need is looks does the pa3x look better because its more professional or does the pa1000 look better because its newer)?

That's a difficult question as the 2 keyboards are quite different in many ways and also would very much depend on personal needs.

I would personally choose PA3X because, not having an EC5 pedal is a complete showstopper for me.
Also in terms of looks, the PA3X is more "professional" - I personally do not like keyboards with built-in speakers.

So you may get some votes here but you'll not know the reasons behind them

Exactly what do you need from your arranger keyboard?

Cheers

Pete :D

Hello Korg Fan#1! Of course PA3x 76 keys version, PA 1000 is now a new ugrade for PA 900 and PA 700 is a new upgrade for PA 600! The keyboard without speakers is professional Only X series are made from wood and steel and all parts in the keyboard are very good! My advice - do not hezitate and get a Pa3x 76 keys! Regards Nick :)

With PA3X you will go downstairs 'cos it's not fully compatible with new PA4X. Sound quality is almost same, PA1000 is much lighter

I also have pre-ordered the PA-1000 , but when I saw the PA-700 , I was total negative about this. Allthese plastc knobs , etc . This is a product from which you can see that Korg must produce cheaper.
Try to make a fill-in with pushing two whibbling knobs toghether , its is desperit.
Ok they have put some different styles and a kaoss.
But do you know what I have done : I hace Cancelled the order and bought a PA3X with a Kaoss next to this. Better quality , more outputs , re-routing 2 channels to the Kaoss , so take my advice :
Better to take a unit with more possibilitys and quality than a rubbish pa700 or pa1000
