I am new to midi setup. Is there someone who could help me setup some used equipment that I recently bought.
I have a kaossilitor that is brilliant. I have a 25key taktile that is connected by a midi cable.
I have gone through the midi setup for both unit. The kaos pad on the taktile will engage the kaossilitor sound patch.
The problem is the keyboard has no respond.
Can someone help me with setup.
I appreciate your time...

Which Kaossilator is it? KP3, KP3+, KPQuad, K2 ....? There is some variation in the MIDI arrangements from one model to another, and there are differences between Taktile and Triton Taktile.
Not sure what is meant by "The problem is the keyboard has no respond. "
Generally to get MIDI to pass both ways between devices, the "MIDI out" of one device needs to go to the "MIDI in" of another. In addition, the MIDI channels, and MIDI routing and filtering need to be set correctly on the devices for it all to work as intended, including the MIDI clock.

Thanks for the reply...
Its Kaossilitor Pro not the plus version, and i know about the midi out from one unit goes to the midi in. Its the Taktile 25 usb midi keyboard. The taktile kaos pad does play the sound patch on the Kaossilitor Pro. I did program the Taktile pads to control the Kaossilitor Pro loop recorder banks.
Its the keys dont produce any sound. There must be a setting that i am missing.
I have a midi cable setup for my ipad/ipoly6 app and the taktile keys work great.

the MIDI channels should set to global channel
MIDI routing set to 1
filtering settings on kaossillitor all enabled taktile set to midi I/F
MIDI clock should it be auto or Kaosillitor set to internal/taktile to external
I appreciate any help..tm

Hi,
If you've succesfully set up the Taktile pad to control the loop recorder banks, then your MIDI connection is fine. Great!
Now the disappointing message. You can NOT control the Kaoss using keys. Well not completely true.
Refer to p23 of the manual of the Kaoss for the details.
MIDI Note/key message 36 through 38 control the 4 loop recorder banks (C2, C#2, D, D#2).
The touchpad events are triggered by 3 MIDI CC messages. Two for X and Y position, a third one to indicate your finger on or above the pad.
Touch pad X-axis : Control change (#12)
Touch pad Y-axis : Control change (#13)
Touch pad on/off : Control change (#92)
So you will need some extra MIDI device in between to translate Note/Key events from your Taktile to MIDI CC. Or maybe your Taktile is flexible enough to set the keys up to send two MIDI CC events (X and on/off, assign Y to a rotary knob or slider)?
Bye

Hey Opamp
Thanks for the reply.
I usually challenge myself to make things work out.
Maybe in the new year,
i will try to save up and get that MicroKorg that i really want.
