Am I missing something? Vocal Harmony with Song

Hey Folks

I'm still very new at all this, but, I feel like I'm missing something obvious.

I've figured out VH with Styles - fine, great - love it. Having come from a TC voice pedal before, I can say the results are a lot better.

And, I've figured out how to record a basic song.

So here's my test scenario:

I want to playback my recorded song, and have VH working from my keyboard input.

So - I record my song - there's a few parts - Piano, Organ, Bass and some strings.

I go to Song playback, and put the song into the player - it plays fine.

Now I want the VH to do 'Stereo 3rd below 5th above' or whatever the preset is - BUT I want it based on the chords I'm playing on the keybed - not automated with the song.

I've played with the settings in the VH menus, but I just can't get it to go right. I can get it to do 'notes' - but that doesn't seem right, and the effect isn't right.

I guess my question is - what's the "right way" to do this?

Would love some pointers...

The upper right hand area of voice preset has a selection for chord assignment. Select CHORD for arranger play, or UPPER for live triggering from the right hand

Thanks as ever for your input.

I think I tried that already - I will go back and try again with your words in front of me to make sure I'm doing what you've suggested.

Given that it didn't work for me, then I guess I did it wrong!!

Still learning... Gonna be learning for a LONG time I think. Love it!
