Is it worth getting the E2 again?

Hello everybody!

I bought the E2 late 2014 and was kind of happy with it, I had it for about a year and sold it because I felt it was just being unused.

Now I have gotten a sudden itch to buy one with the new update and with the blue casing, Can't really decide wether or not to getting one again, has it gotten any better after the "big" update or is it the same all over again?

Hi,

I own the new blue one as well as two of the former generation. I've owned it over a month now, and enjoy using it several nights a week, when I've the free time. Having said that, my advice for you to consider is - if you rarely used the grey version, apart from chaining, is there enough of a change in the new Blue E2 to justify another purchase? It honestly sounds, from what you've said, that your last purchase was more of an impulse buy than anything else, and although the Blue one looks absolutely beautiful, you may well find yourself not using it enough ...once again. After all, the operational changes brought with it, weren't exactly ground breaking.

Nonetheless if you still can't resist buying it again, just make sure you keep the box, manuals and all accessories, and you might even consider keeping the Ableton code unused, so if you ever have to sell it again, you will at least guarantee yourself maximum resale value.

Yeah there there's not a huge difference other than the pads being raised. The software isn't a huge deal other than pattern chaining. The reason I bought a blue E2 is to go with the ES2. Gotta say though that the blue is gorgeous.

I have the black sampler.
I would say that if you weren't feeling the love with the original you won't feel it with the updated versions.

Personally, I like it but I can see that if you didn't like it you won't feel enough of the limitations are rectified.

It's a shame you can't lease them isn't it , instead of having to commit hard cash. :D
