Screen not working proparly
So, I turned on my M3 the other day, after not having used it for some time. It turns out several areas of the screen are not responding. Frustrating, to put it mildly.
Any way to fix it? How much will it cost me to get this fixed?

There are people selling replacements out there http://www.amazon.com/Korg-M3-Replaceme ... B00FFFLK4A
There's also a video on how to fit a new screen on youtube.
So hopefully, not the most expensive job in the world if you don't mind getting your hands dirty.

If the screen is showing information but not responding to touch, it's probably the digitizer at fault. It seems to be a common problem.

I have 2 M3's and have had to replace the touch panel on both. If everything is still visible and there is no distortion then it's just the touch panel that needs to be replaced.
You may be able to get a little more life out of it by recalibrating the touch panel. In Global mode go to the Basic page and select Touch Panel Callibration from the menu (if those areas on the screen are still responsive). But even if that helps the panel will likely fail completely at some point.

Try leaving the unit switched on and upside down for 8 hours,
Worked for me for a while but eventually it stops responding again,
Nightmare,
I came on here to see if anyone had developed an app that works with the M3 yet that replicates it’s touch screen, I’ve a few apps already that I use on my iPhone connected the the M3 midi that alter programs and combis when playing live, but I think we could all do with someone making an app that replicates the screen so when it stops working We can use our iPad or iPhone as the screen instead via midi.

The M3 editor for the PC could be used. I have used that before when having screen problems. I don’t think anyone will do a mobile app being that the M3 is a bit old.BrendanG wrote:Try leaving the unit switched on and upside down for 8 hours,

Now this is interesting news, indeed! Did you just keep blowing for a while? I have an unresponsive screen (and the replacement from Ebay, though not yet installed) and thought I should try your tip.geofio wrote:I purchased an M3 61 with unresponsive screen, I used a hair dryer for a few mins on the panel and now screen is working and acting perfectly like new.
So, I brought out the hair dryer and had a go but unfortunately to no avail. I kept going to it was slightly warm to the touch (the screen that is) and I guess my question is how warm should the screen get?
OK, not that it is as if I could damage it more…

Cheers,
