ES2 Glide and Sampling time questions

Hey guys. Finally got the hang of the machine, although I lead a constant battle with the voice stealing, I feel like it plays much less than 24 voices at once... even with no delays, but there are two things I am still not firmly sure about.
1. I want to step edit glides and pitch shifts, but I can't seem to do it right, Imagine a dnb bassline, it usually flows with a glide, but the pitch knob isn't responsive enough to hit the right notes, so there must be some other way to program a glide?
2. Where can I see how much time is left on my machine for samples? I can't seem to find that info in the menus. Does it appear only once you filled it up? I haven't deleted the preset samples, because I use them too, but I wonder how much time I have left after uploading a few samples myself...?
All the best and thanks in advance, you guys helped me a lot.

1. The only editing feature you can step edit is the motion sequence of the OSC / sample start edit. You have to have motion sequence on for this to work.
You can, however, record motion sequences of your glide and pitch. Also you can modulate pitch.
I agree, Glide is really nice for Drops in electronic music. I use that trick at times for my sets.
2. As far as how much time is left, that I am not sure of. I could be wrong but I don't believe there is an indicator for that. I have not had a use for that myself but would good to have.
I hope this helps.

Press Shift+Record. Press right arrow key repeatedly until remaining sample time appears.

Unfortunately you can't use the step jump motion sequence record trick for glide because you can't hold a step down, hit shift and adjust glide... Shift button breaks the mojo.
Now I wonder if an external controller sending a cc could be used for step jump motion sequencing.... I guess I'll have to try it.

Thanks, guys. So no portamento available in step edit.

gonna have to just try and do it with the glider by hand until it fits, although it still skips from tone to tone...

Personally I'm not a fan of portamento. But the Glide offers a unique expression to your sound.
It's a shame that we can't use modulation on the Glide. Anyhow, the best way to use glide is have it way up and then trigger a low note and then hit a much higher note. It creates a real nice build up for your drop.
This is one of the reasons I wish that Glide was the primary function and pitch was a shift function. Glide is just so much more fun to work with.
