4 resonance osc
such a shame korg didnt continue this one in particular , in the z1 modulating the freq of 4 of the bands of the resonant osc via 4 staircase lfos makes for some of the most beautifull sounds i ever heard , similiar to the kawai K5000 . Nothing sounds like that resonance osc in the Z1 .

because the equipment that used moss are out of date, the triton has a floppy drive and you have to carry a external scsi drive to save big files or use 60 floppy disks, thats why, it would be much easier for korg to add all that moss is to the kronos, by the way I hear the brass on kronos isn't that great, so it would be nice to have a brass model from the moss engine.

1. Don't base your opinions on what one guy said.jemkeys25 wrote:because the equipment that used moss are out of date, the triton has a floppy drive and you have to carry a external scsi drive to save big files or use 60 floppy disks, thats why, it would be much easier for korg to add all that moss is to the kronos, by the way I hear the brass on kronos isn't that great, so it would be nice to have a brass model from the moss engine.
2. I never heard a convincing brass sound out of MOSS, and I have it on my Trinity. Especially ensemble. Interesting - yes. Convincing, not so much.
I think as far as sounds out of moss, you had to program your own sounds, at least thats what I did, and got great results in the context of a band mix, and you also got to layer sampled brass with modeled brass, something you can't do on kronos, I had the Z1, loved it, traded that in for the triton with the moss board, loved that, didn't care for the floppy drive, but it had a scsi connection, ok, same as k2000, but k2000 allowed for an internal scsi drive, big difference, had problems with the external, drive, didn't travel well. then comes the M3, uses thumb drives, great, sell triton, what M3 doesn't support the moss board, bummer.
I support korg, but sometimes I think the people that designed these instruments never used them live on a 5 and 6 night a week schedule, or they'd be designed differently.
Oh I forgot to mention, I owned the triton Le, that was my favorite triton, it was light weight, only 17 pounds, had a smart media card slot for saving programs, awsome, what you can't put a moss board in the triton le, are you kidding me?
all I can say is ,why? why?

The Internet is full of "experts" saying how much of an expert they are. Usually the real experts don't have to say it.ozy wrote:even if he is effing knowledgeable on the subject.StephenKay wrote:1. Don't base your opinions on what one guy said.![]()

So, do you have an example piece of music you've created, containing some fantastic pop brass that we can listen to?
No examples, I'm a live player for over twenty years steady, and haven't had a triton for some years now, so I have no samples of those sounds from the moss, but i remember this trumpet sound i programmed that use to make my hair stand up, and that comes from the sound allowing for human feeling to be expressed through the instrument, which seems to be more obtainable through a pure synth rather than a sample based synth.
