But - money is NEVER the reason why someone doesn't buy (I did a stint in a keyboard shop years ago - and believe me - money is NEVER the issue).
But if Korg were to make every department a 10/10 - keyboard with polyphonic aftertouch; stunning legacy keyboard instruments; stunning program sets for existing synth engines, fantastic DAW integration, optimised Karma, DSP expandabilityand so on; the I do believe it would bring

As we all know, OASYS as it stands is truly limitless - it is a serious and many more buyers on board and definitely create a new buzz.

Kevin.
I don't think it would,Price is the Issue with the Oasys, slap a £2000 ticket on it,then there would be far more buyers on board,Many people are aware of its sonic Quality, but many people aren't able to spend enough time on one to see that for themselves unless they're lucky enough to afford one and spend some Quality time getting to Know it.

Middle of the road workstations are Luxury items so the Oasys is far beyond the reach of those usual customers, although many would drool over the Big O or say its an overated and overpriced workstation that represents nothing that can't be achieved with a Decent DAW computer alternative.Plus many people have been nurtured with software that Hardware alternatives are not even worthy of consideration

I've had a rather Love/Hate relationship with my Oasys in the last 12 months,I recognise its pitfalls and shortcomings but know its strengths,I spent some time getting to know it prior to buying, but I was able to delve into detail in the shop coming from the Triton line, but again feel it offers nothing really beneficial over many workstations except sound Quality and in some modes flexibility, although the price doesn't really cause an issue it has made me on many occasions think is it really worth the Money, when apart from a few commodities,it has nothing thats still got people talking about it except for the lack of movement in the Price tag, already many in here are hoping for an Oasys 2,would it not be more practical to wish for updates to make the original Version more desirable.

Korg could maybe make that 10/10 aspect in all areas of the Oasys Happen, after all they haven't stopped development for the Original but if they do it will simply be the last time I pay for the luxury, and thats when Price does come into it as I suspect for many of us who have bought the Oasys the first time around irrespective of being able to afford it.I would simply not pay so much for a Korg Or any other Manufacturers W/S again if this is as far as the Limits are pushed with an open Architecture,I do feel that there is so much more that can be bolted on to make it live up to the expectations of its users and blow out those who are sceptical of it,

Whether Korg decide to respect the Buyers or not depends on the future of it,It would be interesting to see how many units of Oasys 2 would be sold. From a loyalty of almost 20 years buying Korg,it would certainly shatter any confidence I had in them.I wonder how many others would feel the same.
