Hi Bear.

Thanks for your support mate.
1. Define a fiancial target and have a counter running from €-0 to €-Target
It’s not as easy as that.
We have never purchased bandwidth / hosting in defined blocks at set prices. You can get significant discount by paying up front and in advanced for a few years.

Hosting at the level we need is very expensive. It’s not so much the space, it’s more to do with the amount of bandwidth we need. The download section is about to return too, so I’m expecting our usage to instantly jump by another 50GB a month. All of which I have perfectly planned for… including the future growth of this community.

Don’t worry. Give me 10 cent and I will stretch it a mile :-)

Right now the plan is to leave this donation button online and hope that it can set us up in such a way that next month I can turn around to you all has say that you have secured the future of this community of “X” amount of years in advance. I’m hoping that figure will be 4 years minimum, but I’m aiming for 5 years.

Which in my opinion is extremely good management of your donations. That’s why I was looking for so little from so many. $10 will give you 4 to 5 years of enjoyment here. How about that for great value :-)
2. Make transparent what exactly you are going to buy for the €-Target
Well I can tell you that right now.
1: Bandwidth.. and lots of it.
2: Space
3: Domain Name
4: A buffer for future growth which include any php applications we need to purchase that will help us maintain the community which WILL grow now a lot faster that the old IA name has been dropped.
5: The unknown. It would be just foolish not to plan for that and to keep something aside.

Kind Regards.
Sharp.

Can we also ask why Korg wouldnt contribute to this effort considering their interests in seeing there products advertised?

Very best regards,
Chick and Jenny, Manchester UK!
Good points!
Actually, we just did - but we should be considered just another supporter, and not some sort of corporate sponsor. We don't control this site, and don't want people to think we have Sharp "in our pockets". We respect him/Daz/you all and try very hard to respect the independance of this site.

Regards,

Jerry

Yes..and thanks a million Jerry & Korg for your show of support for this community.

Needless to say it will be put to very good use and in the over all scheme of things I would hope that Korg view this show of support for us as not a gift for hosting Korg product forums, but as a donation to keep us online as a joined community doing what we do best and with what your instruments where designed for.

Writing Music. !!!!

The level song writing that has been going on here over the last 6 month’s is unbelievable. I don’t think I have seen anything like it elsewhere. It’s taking over. Everyone has the bug now :-)

So thank you for keeping us pumping out the music and doing what we love the most.

Kind Regards.
Sharp.

Ditto there Sharp. The constant love and support as well as the excellent tunes going on here have brought my own music to dimensions I never imagined. Without all the expert ears here, commenting and suggesting I would not be pushing that envelope to such levels. I didn't even know the TS was capable of what I'm getting out of it now. And without the SOTM and Promote your Music as well as the help you and others have been on the technical side, I would be playing at home for my limited enjoyment. I have now started selling music in the digital domain thru Itunes and this is directly a result of my membership here. So a small contribution to help create a lucrative career is a no brainer.

I made my contribution and hope, collectively, it is enough to help the forum keep going..
When I needed help and support it was there and I would like to think that it will continue to be there.
Keep up the excellent work guys and looking forward to the future.
I don't make a lot of posts but do often visit the forum and appreciate all the efforts made by members to offer constructive advice.

Guys,

This is really starting to make sense, good on everyone. I have to mention Jerry too, we often seem to be on the fringe, as we're not part of the company 8)

I HAVE to highlight this though:
The level song writing that has been going on here over the last 6 month’s is unbelievable. I don’t think I have seen anything like it elsewhere. It’s taking over. Everyone has the bug now Smile
I'm very unsure about posting my stuff, but have gained so much from SaM - and that's a great example of what the community's all about.

Thanks again to everyone.

Regards Simon

Fresh out of college, don't have a job, and down to my last bit of school loan money...

Just made my donation! I love this fourm!

I do alot more learning here than posting, and have taken from the fourm much more than my poor-man's budget will allow. I couldn't bear to think of life without IA/KF! I feel like some of the folk here are close friends even though I've not met most of them--that's just the atmosphere of this community.
So much inspiration from here, so much information and education! I've never taken part of the song of the month bit, but just knowing that it's there inspires me to sit down and write. Who knows, maybe sometime I'll gather the nerve to post a song--but should that day ever come, I'll be glad to know I helped keep the fourm up so that I could.

Proud to do my part-
Phillip

wow, pzacharias, you've got quite an arsenal of weapons in your studio, perhaps you should post something and dazzle us with your sonic experimentations, this way you'll get at least double your money back in the form of great new tunes! Really glad you're in here.

georgeinar-
Thanks for the kind reply, though I must remind you concerning my 'arsenal' that gear doesn't mean beans for talent! I do hope I've a fair share of that as well, but no promises!
In good humour,
