I know I have used the downloads from this section and while ordinarily they are free to use, since they are not free to keep posted and available it would make sense for all those who wish to take advantage of these great sounds to make at least a token contribution to keep this thing going

…so I was hanging with David Letterman’s writers last night and when I told them of Korg Forums financial difficulties they were aghast. They helped me make up this list.

Top 10 reasons why Korg Forums is worth 10 bucks

10) Industry reps actually like coming here to talk about their products and experiences.
9) Cool digital photography section to thumb through.
8 ) Where else are you going to find rendered pics of Angelina Jolie and synths on the same site? Where I ask you?
7) Adult moderation
6) Great sense of community
5) Very few spammers or flamers.
4) Best download section this side of the North Pole.
3) Download section is free for crying out loud!
2) No advertisements. Not one. Nope..uh uh.Not here either. Nada. Did I mention NO ADVERTISEMENTS!!!

And the number one reason why Korg forums is worth 10 bucks.

1) You like coming here and you want to see it continue. You’re reading this right now for a reason.

You know it’s worth it!!!

Jennies nephew does the web site thing for a living so i asked him for advice and he recomends that any site wanting to keep afloat should offer a service. He also said that if the site is using a lot of bandwidth that those using it should pay for what they are using ; makes sense.

The way he put it is that you or me can go and spend £25 for a yearly magazine subscriptin and get that delivered every month without hassle but it only lasts 3 or 4 hours reading and that anyone can go and get advice on the internet anyway. Not sure what he means by that, but he was really saying that if a site is a community for one particular company- say it was a Microsoft community that the site would sell related software and get discounts from Microsoft for having a close community.

Guys, what if my country is not listed on the paypal country selection????!

I can't find Egypt there... Does that mean I can't donnate? I need some guidance since I've never used PayPal before or used my credit card to pay anything online...

Sharp and Daz, I wish you all the best to collect the 10 bucks from all 2791 members. I'm in but just find me a way to be in :)

IA has always been a great support and a big fat family to me since I joined last march. I can't believe how addicted I am to it now that I browse it at least twice a day. It is also a great chance for me to help others in need like I was once in need as well.

Thank you guys :)

Hi c_hammal.

Your right, Egypt is not listed. Ok, that’s strange. :-)
Don’t know what to say mate, looks like you just can’t do it online so ?.

If you still fancy helping out, then Snail Mail is the only option as far as I can see.

Sorry.

Regards.
Sharp.

Actually, we just did - but we should be considered just another supporter, and not some sort of corporate sponsor. We don't control this site, and don't want people to think we have Sharp "in our pockets". We respect him/Daz/you all and try very hard to respect the independance of this site.

Jerry

Hi,

I stayed here in this forum ( Irishacts) just since beginning. I often have used the download section and some of these sounds of the community I used Live on stage. Also I enjoy to use the forum. Here I get better informations as on our german page of korg ( its really big sh...) Here I get better informations as from my Korg sellers. And I never have the impression that this side is a merchantising side from Korg. I only see that here are many members who love the machines from korg an wanna share their love with others. And that Jerry Stephen and so on stay here in this forum is an award to this forum. And maybe they get incitations for their products.

Its really worth to sustain this side.

Sharp maybe you earn new members for some donations, if you subscribe a few more how much money do you exactly need and what you wanna do with the money :?

Unfortunately I have no credit card, could I pay the money direct from my bank to yours? I've never payed to foreign countrys sorry..

Greetings

from germany

I just received an email drawing my attention to the need for financing this forum. I just donated some money because I think this site is worth it.

Let's not forget the huge amount of work behind the scenes that we don't see. This dedication is worth much more than the small contribution that is asked for.

Keep up the good work!

....on the way....

May be it helps to increase response if you:

1. Define a fiancial target and have a counter running from €-0 to €-Target
2. Make transparent what exactly you are going to buy for the €-Target

This donation counter I do find very important because people might think that you already fundraised enough! How can we know otherwise?

Just a thought....

Thanks to Daz and Sharp!

P.S. Daz---- You could run that counter instead of that overblown phpbb Logo in the upper left.

P.P.S. Thanks "Jazzy" and "Korgies"
