What ever KORG made with this guys, they didnt think this thrue.. Was it worth the money to give a bad view of KORGs trust. They will hopefully solve this fail.. RESTART and make the unlocks come true. Thanks KORG.

Hi
On the korgpa.com website yesterday there was a news about preparing OS for Oriental version for Korg pa3x. Urfortunatelly the news has disappeared.

There was written, that Korg will deliver OS for oriental version till the end of January.

sadly, I bought Pa3x OR two days ago and crushed into this issue. the quick record is very important to me also the midi out. I can not understand how Korg the name that I used to trust made such mistake!

Dear Korg, this is your top arrenger product.. it's very bad for the company to have their best arrenger hated this much by the costumers.

I try to overwrite the oriental OS with the regular one, but the device did not accept.

I used to defend Korg against my Yamaha friends here in Iraq, but now I am convinced that the 1100$ yamaha psr A2000 is better than the top arrenger 3500$ korg pa3x OR in terms of midi out, quick record.

disappointed..

Note, PA3X Oriental is not a third-part made keyboard.
It is made from KORG, with its own scale panel on the left board (hardware changes) and the OS is also made from KORG aswell. Which are addapted for the middle eastern users, and the contract is between a company in libanon that orders a big amount of units from KORG and this company distribute to others. Middle eastern musicians has a big market in KORG.

I hate that they locked the most standard options on an high end keyboard. Paying this mutch for locked functions like MIDI

Just a little note on how this works ...

Local sales companies/distributors decide what features they want in the keyboards they will sell. Korg obliges for if they don't, the local sales companies will not buy the keyboard from KORG. These are contractual obligations that KORG Italy enters in to in order to sell product.

Your job as the end buyer is to let your local sales companies know how dis-satisfied you are with their decisions.

Complaining to KORG is fruitless.

this is indeed a huge turn off.. one has to shell out $3k+ to get this board and the frustration is unmatchable when knowing that it's crippled!

How about the unlock on KORG PA3x MUSIKANT. Was it not KORG that fixed the unlock? Didnt they have locked styles like the Oriental Pa3x?

I think I can be absolutely positive that none of that occurred without the blessing of the German distributor. It might even have been in the original contract that KORG could publish the unencumbered OS after the local sales companies had made their anticipated profits or after a certain period of time after the initial release.

By the way, the proof of my contentions are quite simple. KORG would have no economical reason to make special locked versions of its keyboards unless forced to do so by the local sales companies that want to get a bigger return by selling custom styles and samples. It's much more economical to make and support one version of a product.

As rampant as piracy and file 'sharing' is, you can hardly blame Korg and their local distributors for locking content...

We have only ourselves to blame. The music software and content business is already a VERY slim margin business. It doesn't take much piracy or file 'sharing' to make it not worth the time of the creative people who do this for a living. And. let's face it... if it CAN be pirated, many WILL.

I agree that Korg need to do a more flexible job of stewarding copyrighted content (some system to 'combine' protected SET's so that you can use more than one at a time is badly needed), but you can hardly blame anyone for having to do stuff like this. Be honest... how many of the many posts complaining about the 'locking' of content and OS's come from people you figure WOULD pirate it if it were available?

no need to blame any more. I had give up my Pa3x Or. its true that I am stick to my Kronos and Pa3x le cause I was loyal to Korg and have lots of there products like pa500 Oriental, pa800, kronos and also I own Pa3x le along the past years. but my trust and view of the company has changed.

dear friends, I woun't put any more comments cause I don't have Pa3x OR any more.

however for your consedaration, I discovered that the internal RAM has also been replaced for Pa3x OR. in Korg web site the said its 512* and usable 256 or something, but the OR comes with 126 mb!!! so every one buy the or will change his ram and buy the 512! very strange from korg to put such higher ram in pa600 QT and pa3x le than the top arrenger in the company the pa3x OR.
