Soooooooo! Maybe messe will have some new innovations or at least some cool rehashes! I might be wise to wait until after Musikmesse to order a Kronos, I am tossed up on that. I have waited so long another 6 weeks, give or take, doesn't seem like fun at all. There are two other products that tempt me away from a Kronos and I wonder what changes they may or may not see then.

I wouldn't expect any "game-changer" keyboards at Messe.

I know, I dream, truth is my patience is running awful low! 2 years I have been waiting. So close to pulling the trigger on a little phatty or mopho now the sub phatty! I have non of this but Kronos offers so much more. And the get the most for the money attitude of mine dreams of a better something at messe. I'm a dreamer! Lol, doubt I can hold out till after messe.

That is not only condescending but the premise is false. It assumes that I didn't know about Yamaha's history of synth development, and then you told me to do that before I can claim that the current synths have any innovations.
So when you're condescending to me, I have no problem with responding in kind to correct your errors. So now you assert "my points" naive and superficial, with not valid argument offered to any of the issues that I raised.

I doubt that you had any intention of providing any valid arguments to the points I raised. That's probably because you're embarrassed to be one of the few people who don't recognize how important articulation technology has become to improve instrument realism. You also probably won't answer any of my questions about whether YOU had actually used any of the features that you called minor. So feel free to stick to the facts and arguments without casting aspersions towards me, and I'll respond in kind.

I don't expect anything either but you never know. If Yamaha held out their big one until Messe they could get the spotlight all to themselves since the others already announced everything at NAMM.

Or, if Yamaha Dont offer anything at all, there may be a chance that they will go the same route as TECHNICS, who withdrew the musical instruments from there company. pity though, bebecause they were making fine arranger keybaords of which a lot of them I brought.

Nord does have an announcement for messe but I doubt it is a stage update more likely a wave or such.

Yeah, I got one 3 months ago, as well. Holy crap, what a synth, what a killer sound...

Seriously considering buying this one, and I'm by mostly not a fan of DSi so far. I wanted to buy Andromeda, but they're hard to come by and very expensive. :-)

Looking at those pictures takes me one step closer to ordering a Prophet 12.

To bad if they are not at Musikmesse. I wasp point forward to some more videos. Truly this prophet 12 has me thinking twice about a Kronos. It has everything I know I want, and all those controls and knobs to play with. Even without all the bells and whistles of the Kronos a person could do worse for a first ever synth.

It seems it doesn't have analog oscillators.
That's a pity, though the reasonns are understandable.

Of course it can't remotely replace a Kronos, but if somenone only needs (V)A synth sounds, it looks like an attractive option.

Concerning Musikmesse, I am surprised how big it has become over the years, and it looks like a real Namm contender meanwhile, even concerning announcements of new gear. So you never now if you will meet some substantial keyboard gear surprises there a s well. At least they are ten times more probable there than at summer Namm.

My first synth was a Kawai K4 ... what a mistake that was ... although it was only at 70% of the Korg M1 at that time but I better could save my money longer.

On the other hand, I almost bought a Yamaha SY22, which would even be worse (for a single synth setup only).

vEddY is talking about K5000S, though. ;)

It's a killer synth indeed. I have its rack version smiling at me right now. :)
