The OS has nothing to do with it.
Communication between the KRONOS and Windows will happen over Standard Midi and SysEX.

Its the same as me talking to you on an iPhone and you on your Android phone. Different OS, but the information is passed between the two using a set standard.

Sharp.

michelkeijzers wrote:Like software and even more in hardware, changing something after publication is far more expensive (in both time and/or money) then to design things properly.

So I'm sure the keybed was unintended, same as the data wheel. Both are corrected by Korg in a good way. They only thing that could be improved is lack of communication.
Indeed.
There´s no dout about it.

As you mention, the key point here is feedback.

FWIW. Korg needs to improve all kinds of lack of communication: When there´s issues with the initial design (i.e. Initial poor data wheel design, undetermined number of units with defective RH3 keybeds) any delays providing an advertised feature (i.e. the promised and long waited yet undelivered editor) or, to sumarize, any other issue araising with the product.

I contacted Korg U.S.A. Product Support via email regarding status of the KRONOS editor.

The response I received (Feb 23rd) was:
Thank you for your inquiry regarding the KRONOS. Korg is still working very hard on the Editor and we hope to have it available for download within the next two months.
While disappointed, I will be marking my calendar for the end of April, which would fulfill the "within the next two months" estimate.

On the positive side, I was glad that Korg responded with an actual time frame. Now I can stop checking the Korg website each week.

Since the editor has taken so long, I am hoping for a special "make a hit record" button within the editor. :)

(they support BOTH hardware and software)

Korg USA Product support -- https://www.korgusa.com/contactus (For fastest service I would suggest calling them on the phone)

Outside the U.S. contact your Korg Country Distributor -- https://www.korg.com/us/corporate/distributors/

Well, that would be almost to a "T" one year from when the Kronos shipped. That doesn't sound too bad.

Hopefully the editor will include a nice pattern editor. I can't make complex drum and bass patterns on the Kronos from scratch with the built-in setup.

Not quite, but close. I pre-ordered my Kronos while NAMM was still going on and Sweetwater was one of the first to get them and I'm pretty sure I was one of the first to receive one. Mine shipped on June 30th and arrived at my house on July 1st. Tack on that they never promised it would be available by the time they shipped and said it would be several months down the road. But granted, it's later than we (and probably Korg) expected.

It's coming. We have a rough ETA from Korg so can we move on now?

Sigh....
21 May 2011.....is the day the Kronos was available for sale in Japan. I picked mine Kronos up that day. Korg's website advertised the editor. It wasn't on the included DVDs nor available for download. This is well documented as I created a thread here in this forum. Only after I started complaining was Korg's website updated to say it will be available in late 2011. When the date came and went......you know the rest of the story.

Anyway saying or implying otherwise isn't being honest.
Tool box: Kronos 61, Fantom FA06, ASR-10, MPCX, MPC Live, and MPC 4000.
