If you see SAMPLES NOT LOADED, click on the Main Drop-down menu (Top-right) and select SHOW SAMPLES NOT LOADED. Most often it's a drum sample related to the drumtrack, which is why the program sounds just fine without it.

Have you tried loading the Preload KSC file from the Factory folder in disk mode?
From your initial attempt at upgrading the OS and afterwards saving a KSC file in your name, you may have dug yourself deeper into the web that you are at currently. It's quite possible that you have unloaded the factory KSC also.

Try reloading KSC file as above and if that doesn't work I personally would call KORG for support.
After some of the changes you have already made I'm certainly not in any position to tell you correctly how to move forward other than the above. Sorry drama.

Edit:
Incidentally, there was no need to get the KSC file from Trinity. The files you
need are all on the HD in the Factory folder..

Thank you all for your help. I'll keep all posted, I never thought of it being the drum track, but i do know that little window that says, "samples not loaded" was not there before I upgraded to the new OS. I'm not at my synth and probably won't get to this until Friday, because of work obligations, but Thanks again for all the help. This is a GREAT forum. special thanks to Trinity2112, he went way out of his way to help.

I definately lost them somehow. I've done everything I can think of, excluding reload the entire OS and for that I need a usb DVD player or something. I'm really bummed. :x
If you are really stuck you should be able to use a usb stick and copy the factory directory from the DVD to USB.
Then connect USB to Kronos
Inside that directory are the files you want. This way no DVD player required
Hope this helps :D

Thanks, Lotty1, but for some reason my computer will not read the disks, with the exception of the video manual. I've read on this forum you have to have an external DVD drive to load the PRELOAD KSC. files on the HDD.

Now, what I have done because of the help of Trinity2112, I have all of the samples from the Exi's loaded on a flashdrive stick. I have been able to load the samples from the usb stick, and save them on the HDD using a different name. Even with 2.0.2 loaded I still cannot load the factor KSC drum samples because i run out of RAM. I don't have the X version, I just purchased the Kronos a couple weeks ago.

I was under the impression with the latest OS release i would be able to not only load all the factory samples, but install additional KORG libraries. Maybe I'm wrong, but i swear I asked this question of someone else and they said with the latest OS they were able to load all factory samples in addition to the strings library. Again thanks for all the help. I posted on another thread asking help for what kind of external DVD will work so I can reload the PRELOAD KSC files because i sure as hell don't want to drive an hour, buy a DVD drive only to find out that doesn't work thanks again for all the help.
