I did purchase a soundset from one of their members awhile back--some good patches.
New patches and tutorials are regularly posted there. Not a huge collection of patches at the moment, but it is growing.
Sweetwater's ftp site and Kurzweil's ftp site still have a lot of sounds available for free download.

My K2661 came with a CD that had a shed load of extra sounds on it, and I also downloaded a a whole bunch of both sounds and samples from the Kurzweil site itself. That was a handful of years ago, but I think all those resources are still there.Dniss wrote: I'm totally puzzled that a keyboard used by so many professional musicians has so little sound available. Aside from the usual Sweetwater sounds and 2 or 3 commercial cds, I haven't found anything worth mentioning. Most links are usually dead.

Yes, I got that CD as well. There are some good sounds on it, but mostly "bread and butter" stuff. I don't recall any extra setups though, just programs.Daz wrote:My K2661 came with a CD that had a shed load of extra sounds on it, and I also downloaded a a whole bunch of both sounds and samples from the Kurzweil site itself. The Kurz FTP site had some duplications of the CD last time I was there and not much else to get excited about, but that was maybe 2 years ago.

Hi!
I jump into the discussion just with a few words...
Presets quality and availability count a lot for me when it comes to decide what to buy.
BUT I must say that's it not just the only factor; you know, presets will end, but if you learn how to use your keybs and how to program them to have the sound you are looking for, by yourself, you will never say "that keyb is dead".
Just my two cents,
regards.
