Here’s my situation, if anybody knows what i could do. I had a Kronos 1 way back but sold it. When I go to the Korg iD site and see my registered products, I still see all the libraries I bought back then. Some say « Registered » with what must be the public address of the unit i sold, some say 0 of 3 authorizations. I have no way to trace back the person who bought it and obviously he doesn’t seem to have cared about registering the unit to his name. Have I known i would have transferred the unit to his name, or whatever procedure is required.

Does that mean that if I was to buy the new Kronos i could install and authorize those libraries when entering the public address of the new unit?

Thanks for any response. Tempted to return to the Kronos but if it means rebuying all those libraries that’s kind of a turn off.

Yes. Use the Register Hardware option to enter the Public ID of the newly acquired Kronos on the Korg ID website, and then it will be possible to ask it to generate the authorisation code for each of the Kronos EXs libraries that you've bought, without having to pay again. Don't forget to download and use the Kronos version-appropriate EXs package for the new keyboard.

On the Korg ID website, at the bottom of the Your Products / Downloads section, there is the option to select the old, previously owned Kronos, and then delete the registration. I'm not sure if that "releases" the association of the EXs libraries with the old Kronos, as I've not tried deleting any Kronos registrations.

I have one EXs librariy that shows as "Used in the 0 product(s) out of 3." I think the authorisation code may have been sent by email, before the Korg ID site was established.
.

Thanks fo the thorough explanation. That would be great. Will just have to see the selling price of the new Kronos and if that makes sense.

Will the new K3 address the cooling issues and significantly reduce the boot time?

Korg say the boot times are reduced by 60%. They will be using a new motherboard. My guess is it will run faster and probably cooler being more modern. But there is little information available at the moment.

The product specialist of the Italian representative, states that is fanless, zero noise

If it's fan-less then that suggests the new motherboard can just rely on a heat sink. I expect the board is more energy efficient as its will be a newer design with a more efficient processor. Be interesting to see what motherboard they use and if there's a second and spare SSD slot and what other input/output ports it has.

The seller (you) should Delete Registration, otherwise, the buyer can't register your Kronos. Your libraries are good for 3 simultaneous registered units. If you have a Kronos X, Kronos 2, and Nautilus, you can have the same libraries on all 3.

https://korg.shop

Go to the Account page and select ACCOUNT INFORMATION.

Select YOUR PRODUCTS/DOWNLOADS.

Scroll down to Kronos and open to view the screen shown below. Delete is at the bottom.

Hence at least one of the left hand buttons should be gone which was used to access Karma control panel.
It's true I said this in the past, awhile ago, but I could not comment on recent developments - until now. ;) There's no "further development" on the version of KARMA in it - but it's the same KARMA that's always been in there. Which I'm happy about. I had the new one here, to put a new remix of my Challenger demo in it, and it's a beauty.
Well done, first track is sweet, wonder where Ive heard that before. Congratulations!

Here is a link from a few days ago with all the new songs… Are these the updated 2025 versions ???

Seems like it... it says Kronos 3 - should be the same songs (different order) as what's here on SoundCloud:

LET'S HOPE!!! We won't know until someone on this forum is brazen enough to try it. OG Kronos and Kronos 2 motherboards are different. Has anyone tried the Kronos2 motherboard in an OG Kronos or Kronos X? Did it work?

Not to derail the thread, but would like to ask Stephen if there are any updates on the standalone Karma rewrite you mentioned last year. KARMA resurrected on modern OS would be more important than the resurrection of Kronos!

Resurrection ?!?!

When did Karma-lab cease?

Sure it’s in a minute or two since a new version or new karma-fied sound sets. But to say …

Yes, I am still working on the new modern-OS rewrite of the KARMA software, with a completely new modern look and the ability to run as a plugin. I will have more to say about that at some point in the future.
