Korg Pad Kontrol seems to be the only device set up to go from cc to midi note. But bare in mind, when you go straight cc you lose in velocity control. Just a thought.

Uploading songs
Im new to this stuff and the KP Pro might be something I might get in the future. With the KP Pro how long of a clip can I put on it. Can i take 40 seconds of a song put it on an SD card and then remix it with the KP Pro? Or is 40 seconds to long?
Re: Uploading songs
I dont think the max sampling time per channel is 40 secs.. i think its 16 measures (4 bars of four beats) min tempo 73 bpmDjab23 wrote:Im new to this stuff and the KP Pro might be something I might get in the future. tempo grumble
if i want to make dubstep type beats, i want 16 measures of 70 bpm, its slightly annoying that the kaossilator and kp3 only go down to 73bpm at 16 measures

You can already download the Kaossilator Pro manual (multilingual) from the german Korg site: http://www.korg.de/uploads/tx_softwarec ... ndbuch.PDFmindgames wrote:Hey RichF, if boxed units are going out for review with manuals like in that video above then the manual must be ready? How about sorting us out a PDF?

Cool thanks for the post to link on the manual!
Now the number 1 headache on the KP3 is BACK!
for global:
LOOP RECORDER BANK A button Note on/off (#36)
LOOP RECORDER BANK B button Note on/off (#37)
LOOP RECORDER BANK C button Note on/off (#38)
LOOP RECORDER BANK D button Note on/off (#39)
Please, somebody, explain it to me, Rich if possible. why on earth does korg continue to assign sample/loop banks to midi note numbers when they should be assigned to control change numbers in global.
this is why korg should make a standard practice in making it possible to use either midi note or CC#. So many times I want to hook something up that has is control on off switch which is normally CC#. Sample/loop buttons A-D are not keys or notes! They are on/off switches! Why would someone assign a midi note to on/off toggle switch...really, please someone explain the logic behind this.
My first firmware update request: Make Loop buttons A-D be Control Change instead of midi note!

Now the good stuff I learned about thanks to the manual is all in the synths...wow what options! Everything I have always wanted in a "computer free synth" is here. Can't wait to get this.

It really is too bad that Korg doesn't alpha/beta test their hardware with us before they release it, to keep from making so many big mistakes in the design that hinder their success. Going to a stupid gate arp that doesn't have the patterns of the original, with a switch on the back to control speed/time, is a huge disappointment. Even the EMX can send midi note info out from the ribbon pad. Korg, don't go touting how you collected so many wish list items from users when you do these thing. Show me the wish list items with people asking to "get rid of the kaossilator patterns and replace them with even tempo patterns." I never saw anybody requesting that. I saw lots of people complaining about how the KP3 controls were mapped. Did that get fixed? No. Having to trigger the midi notes with CC? That's just plain idiotic - who wants to have midi translation between a midi keyboard and the gear just to trigger notes? Who? Who? Who? Nobody. That's who.
I'm revoking Korg's "Customer Wishlist" approval card. It's clear to me that they did this on an ultra budget. They didn't want to design a new product. They wanted to reuse the KP3 hardware as it was. Change the silkscreen labels for the knobs, use a yellow trim and green LEDs, then just reprogram the hardware to pass it off as a new product. There is so much to like about the Kaossilator with the 4 loops and new programs, that it's painful to see them screw up important aspects of it. 2 steps forward and 1 step back might be progress, but it's very frustrating compared to 3 steps forward.
