Pete,you are doings everything right.
If that works for you you are lucky indeed.
Mine is International 76keys too,but it doesnt work.
Unless Ch Aftertouch is totally different from Aftertouch ,then it should work fine since Channel AT works great.
But when iset osc trigger mode to AFTEROUCH-normal,it doesn't trigger the layer.
At this thread Paolo said it was a bug,but they fixed it..... : http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/ ... 1a8e884085
So, since Afterouch and Ch Afterouch is the same, it should work for me as well, right ?

Yes this should work for you!!!
In case I'm going mad, I just set up A/T layers on a few other SOUNDs - not having any problems here.
This is crazy.
I can't comment on this prior to Paolo's message saying it was a bug - but it certainly works fine right now.
I wonder what this can be!!! I also double checked that my PA4X uses PKG updates

after factory reset, tried it again,no luck.
Then i remembered that my first 2.4Gb installation was using the V2 divided version pkg files.
So,now i am downloading again the fast connection this time pkg file to give it a try, then i will update again to v3.1,skipping v2.2 and v.3,
and i will post the results here.
greetings

Well,
i installed version 2 again, using the fast connection files this time,
skipped all updates and jumped straight to version 3.1
Now,it feels more safe, since i tried to push songbook to its limits with no problems so far,
no restarts, etc, but to be honest i didn't try to move or edit setlists and entries,
but i will dig into it when i will have the time to do that ,
i just hope i won't have another restart issue.
Aftertouch didn't actually work,
so last option was to dig into test mode and callibrate aftertouch there.
Then it worked.
Maybe i had to do a better callibration,
cause now aftertouch doesn't work on 3 last keys (F7-G7),
but that's fine with me.
Normally callibration needs to be done with a 2Kg preasure on a key,
closest to that was a six-pack beers which i used for that.

So far,so good,hope i have Pete's luck from now on !!!!!

tastes great
I love this conversation very interesting...
and korg1 you say,
Normally callibration needs to be done with a 2Kg pressure on a key,
closest to that was a six-pack beers which i used for that.
My question is
what if i drink miller lite beer ,less filling and tastes great
will it be less pressure and sound great ...
Just joking

Unfortunately, many will want the same keyboard with a lot more added and improved hardware rather than a complete change - bring out something completely new and there will be many who can't afford both (like me). I couldn't drop my PA4X for a totally new arranger - I don't have at least $6,000 (current PA4X-76 price here) for a second and very different arranger. After so many years I expect a complete change
Like we have seen with the genos
Genos was advertised as (and is) Tyros 6 - very little change which is why I did not consider it.

Any significant change is going to be disruptive. But an insignificant change is going to be tough to sell...
We’ve pretty much come to the end of the line for the current hardware. If Korg could significantly add any more base capability to the current hardware (polyphony, effects architecture, display tech, file systems etc.) by now they would have.
A significantly better arranger is going to need a significantly different CPU and data architecture, and that’s going to mean significant problems shoehorning all that onto a legacy OS.
Even incremental change has led to problems with legacy data and workflow, it’s pretty much a given that changing to a different CPU and OS is going to throw up challenges. But that’s the price of progress. There are no free rides.
Me, if a new model makes truly significant improvements, it’s worth the disruption. But a new model that doesn’t? That’s a tough sell, as it’s likely that even that will throw up at least a few disruptions anyway!
