Namaste

I think you are mentioning about my Post 7 where i have highlighted my problem of Tracks going out of sync.

Very valid points raised by U.

The Track that you hear is played by me.
I havent checked the event data. But I am sure it should be starting from 0.000 or atleast near to that.

But the problem that i face is this. Even if i played it off timing, How is the track going out of sync more and more after each passing Metronome count ?
If there is a Mis Timing , this should be true for every metronome count and it should remain off time every time. But if you pay attention, the playback of the Original track is starting before the metronome even counts one.

I was so depressed on this problem that i almost stopped composing after that. I would do it again and see if i can recreate the problem. If so, i would give you all the details.

I am still yet to come out of the Shock of the resolution Korg provided yesterday for playing my saved sounds in Mono,

There are two more bugs that i uncovered which i would be posting later.
One, a system hang that i can live, and another one is a Pitch Bend which is a very SERIOUS ISSUE, a Design issue with korg.

did you try creating style with inbuilt drum kits and see if this problem persists over there too? Or this issue is happening only with encrypted samples?

I think you'll find that perhaps the track going out of sync is an issue with the loop not being regular in the first place. If you didn't set up the first loop to be exactly correct, as it loops it gets further off from any other loops. Check the 'length' of the initial loop, make sure it has the correct number of ticks.

Again, check also that the purchased sounds don't have some kind of latency or incorrectly trimmed samples (if there's any silence before the sample sounds, it may cause the sound to sound delayed, and that will continue even when the loop is corrected).

Did you 'feel' any issues with the sounds when playing them? Do they trigger the moment you play them, like other ROM drum sounds do, or do you feel a bit of 'lag'?

On the whole though, I think you might need to check whether you defined the size of the division BEFORE you played the initial track, or did you simply start recording, hit stop, and allow the arranger to define the length of the loop?

I think much will become explained if you take a careful list edit look at the data's timing and the division's length...

Lat question... repeatability. Have you tried repeating the steps? Have you got the EXACT same issue every time? Have you tried it with a MUCH simpler input (say just quarter notes on one drum sound) and quantized the first loop before you tried the second? Have you tried doing the exact same steps but using a ROM kit?

Doing these may offer insight into the initial problem.

Hi this is Swapnanil,
I recently shifted off from a Yamaha psr s900 and of course havent learned the full features of the pa900.
Though the complain about the sustain or hold button maybe an but most of the sounds do not exactly require thehold to be controlled manually.
But there is no doubt tat thepa 900 has a better set of indian sounds and styles compared to that of the yamahas.

Also I personally do suggest being a korgian to wait patiently and learn how to use the instrument Beyer and in depth before blaming anithing on the instrument because it is surely better comapred to the yamaha.

Thankyou if there is still anything you might want to know email me at "swapnaburn@hotmail.com "

Re: Need a Little Help here

This is easy.

The sound has been saved properly.

The sound that you're selecting in STYLE PLAY, is in STS mode. So, you need to save a performance with this Tanpura sound, add this performance sound to STS and it'll be all like you want it. I've done it and it works!
I need a Little Help here.

Dont know if its a problem or something that i am missing.

I save a sound with Portamento, but when I select the same sound from the Style Play section, i do not see the Portamento as much as i saved it from the sound modify section.

Here is a video to help better understand the situation.

Is this a Bug ? or something that i am not paying attention ?

Thanks in Advance.
Hello Natasha,

Thank you much for your response.

So my question is this.
In my Style Play mode, Why cant i select a sound that I modified and saved from the sound modify section directly from the sounds ?
Why this extra workflow to save it into STS Mode ?

Also when in Style Play mode, when I click the Upper 1 , it goes to the Sound selection ... where i can select a different sound. If this was meant to be from the STS section, then the Upper 1 , Upper 2 Upper 3 etc should take me to the STS menu instead of sounds .. is it not ?

Sorry if my question sounded bit dumb, but the catalog didnt explain this :)

Awaiting for your :( this response. This would greatly help me in my work flow.

You're welcome.

From my understanding, STS on the particular style has fixed parameters.

So best is to create a new performance altogether and then assign this to the sts that you want in the style.

I know what you are trying to do but it seems like a bug and hence i just create a new performance.

Another Question

Post by M4MyIndia »

Right now there are 2 problems that I have. (I would live by the others )

Problem 1.
As stated earlier. Can I play my Portamento instrument in any mode (song Style mode etc)

Problem (Question) 2
I see lot of settings for the Pitch Bend.
E.g. Bend the Highest Note, Bend the Lowest Note,

But is there any setting to Bend only the LAST note ?

Thanks in Advance.

PS :- I found a very Disturbing issue with the Joy stick.
Steps to reproduce.
Play an instrument (Say a flute over a scale)
Play for two minutes till you get used to the notes and the tune.

Use the Joy Stick to Left / Right to bend notes.

now release the joystick so that it springs back to its central position.

Play the instrument again,
YOU WILL NOTICE A SLIGHT CHANGE in the OVERALL TUNING of the Keyboard.

Reason, the Mechanical Joystick is defective to its central position and has a small Play.

Load Roland xp30 Indian sounds to PA900

Post by Picasa99 »

I am trying to load sounds from my Roland xp30 (which has excellent Indian tones) to my Korg Pa900, but the only way I have found to do that is

1. Record a particular note (from each octave - say 'C') as wav from Roland xp30
2. Load it in Pa900 and then multi-sample it
3. Save the multi-sample as a sound
4. Repeat the steps 2 and 3 for each of the note from the upper Octave to get better sound quality.

Is there any easy way to export the sounds that are in the Roland xp30 (or in general any keyboard) and load it to Pa900?

Thanks,
Lankesh
