Thanks to MarPabl for originally posting this on a previous thread and suggesting the steps on creating this. I had never heard of the Atomizer until I saw these videos. It really opens up a host of possibilities as far as manipulating effects. You can populate IFX's 8 to 12, MFX's and TFX's with several other effects routed to various controllers and have as many as 16 at a time.

IMHO, the important thing here is to be able to link the rec time to MIDI (I think this is possible) and then we need to set the SW buttons (for example) to different note durations.

You can also apply low pass or high pass filter to the incoming signal. We can do this by chaining the Filter effects.

Right now I don't have my Kronos near, I'll try next week. Meanwhile, any brave one will try doing this

There are some features I don't think we can achieve: reversing the recorded samples and we're also missing the technology to automatically detect the BPM of the incoming signal (however, by using incoming signal directly from the Kronos, this isn't an issue)

New challenge

Ok after proving the Atomizer is fully achievable with Kronos, now it's time to optimize the end result.

Right now, we need about 8 IFX to get the Atomizer. While this is fine for a single Program, it poses a limitation on a Combi/Seq. Therefore, the next goal is to use the minimum amount of effects.

I've been thinking how to do it. We can use just one IFX with Hold Delay and even this way we can get variable recording time (note length).

IMHO, the best approach is to use Seq mode and give an interesting use to RPPR.

We can record the actual change of note length on the sequencer and even the clear buffer/start recording. Having this SysEx messages recorded, we assign it to a RPPR and do the same for every note length available. Having the required RPPR, we just need to press the right key (just as in Access Virus TI) to get the modified note length and make the Kronos playing the loop.

So the keys can start the loop and we free the mod wheel and vector joystick for the rest of the interesting parameters:
- Reverse the playing. When combined with the key, the sample is played backwards (so we enable the BPM Reverse)
- Ability to let the unprocessed signal to be heard. By modulating the Dry/Wet parameter, instead of setting it to 100. We can use AMS Mixer to restrict the Dry/Wet ratio.
- Here comes the tricky part: in order to further process the Dry signal, to make it available to other effects (like the Vocalizer or a Filter), we may try to use it as an EXi input to an instance of the MS20EX or MOD-7. If we're lucky enough, the signal received by it will be Dry and we can apply other set of effects.

Some brave one can achieve this?
