Seriously, for all of the grumbling and complaining on these boards that Korg was dragging its feet in releasing the editor, it's unbelievable to read people now complaining that they rushed it out.
If I worked for Korg, I'd never post on these boards. It's a thankless job.
To those who work for Korg, I thank for your time. I think the criticism on these boards has been grossly unfair. Korg has and continues to build amazing instruments that inspire me to make music. I'm a more creative musician because of your efforts!
Any issue that I've had with Korg products has been quickly addressed by Korg. Thank you for standing by your products.
Sincerely,
Dan Meredith

Thanks for your explanation
Korg Support may work nicely in some parts of Europe, US and Japan. In the region I live, you should have visited to see what kind of support Korg / its dealers has. You guys have never seen the outer zones... we know the pain if we go to the authorized distributor (whom we believe that they only can do)

Please don't mistake me coz., over the years I have been much dependent on forums than a solution from my region distributors who doesnt even know what Korg synths can do... Most of their recruits are just keyboard players and not techies a bit at-least...
Hope you all respect my words...

Yes, I too think post and threads like this are very unfair. And for some reason these are the ones that people (outsiders) end up seeing when they happen to peep their head in on the forums.
Then they run back with that little piece of info and trash us at their forums.
The korg guys are very nice and try to help in any way they can. And I love their products!!! INCLUDING THE KRONOS!!!
Stop the madness!!!!

Btw, just out of curiousity, who is Michael Lambie?

Developer of the free PCG file managing application for most Korg workstations: PCG Tools, see https://www.kronoshaven.com/pcgtools/
Are you a racisit? Want to keep the forums and Korg Support for US and Europe only?apex wrote:Yes, I too think post and threads like this are very unfair. And for some reason these are the ones that people (outsiders) end up seeing when they happen to peep their head in on the forums.

Your forum info says that you're in Australia. Over the years I've worked with Korg, I've had lots of contact with Korg's Australian distributor, Music Link, and they have always been quite knowledgable.jimiki wrote:Dan,danatkorg wrote:While some Korg employees post here as time permits, as do affiliated developers such as Stephen Kay and Michael Lambie, this is not an official forum for technical support, and we will not be able to respond to all threads. Dan... You can PM me which region I am specific here..... Dealers are interested in sales and $$$$ than technical support.. They cover up only warranty items.. Forums like this only give technical support which Korg is the best in my little knowledge..and that's why I have been Korg customer since 1990.... also you should see that I am a regular visitor here since 2004 earlier than you !!!!danatkorg wrote:

I have done business with music link... more of sales than technical knowledgeable.. May be some good folks at eastern states.. Not in Western Australia atleast...

I concur. I've spoken to them a few times and they've always been quite helpful.danatkorg wrote: Your forum info says that you're in Australia. That being said, more and more companies internationally are starting to utlise social media as official support channels. My own company has a 24-hour team dedicated to resolving customer queries on forums, Facebook and Twitter. It helps aid engagement with customers, and improves customer sentiment.
If Korg don't think it's worthwhile at this point in time following the trend of employing social media as an official communications channel (and it is a complicated area filled with peril and reward) then we have no choice but to accept that decision and use the channels Korg provide.
Either way, the fact that Dan, Rich and others post here as representatives of Korg is greatly appreciated.

As with most Korg Distributors, Music Link is responsible for tech support for the entire country; it won't matter where in Australia you are. Call or email them directly; see the link in my signature. I have about 20 years of experience with them, and they are indeed quite tech-savvy.jimiki wrote:Dan... Back to question... Is there a plan to release a OS version 1.6xx taking care of all the reported issues?

Cool, another Kronos owner in WA!jimiki wrote: Not in Western Australia atleast...
If you're after warranty service for Korg in WA, I suggest Electronic Music Services. I agree that many of the dealers in WA don't provide exceptional after-sales service. Electronic Music Services only do repairs, not sales, so you may have more luck there.
The few times I've spoken to MusicLink about technical issues, they've been pretty helpful.

Thanks dude... atleast you have something to support my words here.... I have done business with ML for more than 30k value... still the "mmmphhhh" lacks with them on the support compared to eastern states... Not any of them attend to you when you walk in to their show room..unless you want to buy some thing...SeedyLee wrote:Cool, another Kronos owner in WA!jimiki wrote: Not in Western Australia atleast...

Music Link Australia were pretty dismissive of dropped midi notes when driving the M3 from an external sequencer. OK, third party involved but seriously no interest from them. I believe there is a repeatable fault which is not just my unit and my respect for Music Link and Korg was damaged by this.
Also, back in the '90s I was purchasing replacement power supplies from them for Prophecy and Z1 when they could have told me that a 5c resistor just needs replacing.
Just a bit of customer feedback for Korg in Japan,
B

There you go Dan !!! My humble request to you is dont be so much proud of your dealers.. the service you offer to us is not even half with your dealers... They need to change... replacing or reparing parts doesnt mean service...

Music Link is the Korg distributor for Australia, which is different from being a dealer and carries different responsibilities. There will be no distinctions in technical support between geographical locations within Australia, because they have a single technical support phone number and email address. They also do not have showrooms open to the public. Your mentions of distinctions based on geography, and of walking into showrooms, are thus puzzling; it sounds like you are talking about dealers, rather than Music Link. If you need Korg tech support in Australia, please do contact Music Link via the link in my signature. Hopefully this information will be helpful to you in the future.jimiki wrote:
