By the way. It's a Lite-On external DVD/CD Rewriteable drive...

Maybe, a CDRW only drive, would be a better match. I don't know if it's possible to find such though.

I load my .WAV File to the cd, finalize with what seems no drama. I go to "play cd" and the cd only plays for 4 seconds and it's done. I thought this might be a problem with the cd player on the Kronos so I played the cd on an external cd player and.....it plays 4 seconds. What is the issue?
Did you ever find a solution?

Are you sure you’re burning an AUDIO CD and not a DATA CD.
There's an entire mode for burning AUDIO CD's in Disk Mode. You insert tracks (wave files) to a table.

I was curious so I took a recommended drive" Samsung SE-208 and tried to write wave files to CD with Kronos; no luck, result was a few seconds of audio.
Mounted same drive to Oasys, same result. Then I used Oasy to write waves to CD using the Oasys' internal drive, no problem.
This leads me to believe it's a problem with writing to specific external drives, (even though there may be no problem reading from the drive). It may even be a write speed problem.
We definitely need a list of drives that are "fully compatible".

The problem is that the Kronos does not support all file types for CD drives. It only supports UDF, Audio CDs and ISO 9660. So you need to use UDF format to write files similar to using a hard drive.

I tried another DVD writer, the ASUS SDRW-08D2S-U.
I had NO difficulty writing wave files to CD with this previously recommended
drive. It was available at Newegg.

You should add every working external drive to the sticky post: USB Controllers confirmed to work.

I bought the liteon enau108 and i was able to record to it, but only 4 seconds, as well.

i did the research and i am having troubles finding out how to get it to burn the full song and not just 4 seconds. i read mention of that, but i can't find it in the manual or online.

I add the track to the Audio CD tracklist to have it burned on there and it shows up the appropriate length, but when it burns it i pop it into my cd player and also play from the Kronos, it only plays 4 seconds!

Same story as some of the others ... I've used TWO different drives with identical results ... first 4 seconds of each track and then nothing. I even bought the Asus drive that another member reported as working, and it also fails. The WAV files are normal length, and I can easily copy those over to a thumb drive and write using Itunes, but that sucks. I've also tried using "music" CDs, etc, and absolutely no luck. Different cables, and no luck. If anyone would like a stack of about 25 CD-ROMS with several tracks of crappy home-made dance music consisting of 4 seconds per track, let me know ;-)
