Would be nice for Korg to come out with new M50 type workstation in the 1000.00 range with sampler board option. Just like LE.
The Triton LE is the "lighter" of the Triton, it doesn't have ribbon, touch screen, floppy drive, cheaper keybed, less IFX, no upgrade option.
The M50 already is a version of the M3, so make it even lighter would be ridicoulous.
But adding a sampler to the current M50 would be amazing, it's the only thing that i want for it. But i'll make it more expensive though,

well it sound quite strange to me that m50 will have a offpspring at namm11... korg has released P60 and micro-station already drived from M3/M50...
maybe they would release a "M50 (hardware) Xpanded" with sampling board and maybe some other bells (mp3, wav player?) but who knows if there is really market for this now...
new analog is getting quite popular in these days and korg have nothing except monotron and iMS20, i guess many would buy a modern MS20 if build with the needed quality

Whatever it is, it IS NOT going to be a replacement for the M50.
The M50 is a 'lite' M3, so it can not be replaced until after the M3 is.

Well, my m50-61 is 2 years and 3 months old, gigging constantly AND has seen some studio time, and the thing seems fail safe to me (I had a LED burnout/break/whatever on one of the mode buttons, but it STILL works fine). It happened over a year ago but couldn't go without the keyboard as it was fixed under warrantee.
Korg is NOT about to stop making this unit! The tooling is done, design is done, the M50 should be the hottest thing in it's class for at least another 2 years!
Anyways, just HAD to add my two cents! lol.

so far both M50 and M3 Xpanded are still supported products (anyway this does not imply that we will have any OS/patches upgrade/improvement from korg).
so until they will be discontinued there won't be any successor
M50

My only complaint is the chord buttons. The keyboard is un-weighted and action is not much to talk about, no AT, but the Joy Stick is great, one of the best IMO and everything else is fine for the price. The machine is amazing really. I have to say in my case the weak link is the operator, not the machine. The sound creating potential is just frickin amazing. One more week and we see what Korg has been up to.

I've had capacitor problems in the past, got those fixed and just got myself a hard case for the M50. Hopefully I won't run into any more issues.
Although the build of the board has been somewhat sacrificed for price, I am extremely happy with all the high quality sounds, effects, and all that jazz that are on this board. It will definitely see a lot of use when I minor in music in college. I'm pretty happy with Korg on this one.

m3 Xpanded is not discontinued anyway... is still listed on korg.com and i think it will remain as WS targeting people who need WS but cannot afford the price of kronos...
futher, M3 has a different design from kronos:
- trigger pads
- you can separate module and keyboard
- X-Y touchscreen for KAOSS-like EXF (on kronos maybe done with vector-joystick)
- tilt-able screen
- sequencer with track meters and piano-roll view (not on kronos)
