I agree that paper manuals are useless for something as complex as the M3. And I also agree that no-one should "read" a paper manual cover to cover, it's a bit like "reading a dictionary", it's there for reference.

BUT - learning how to use the latest electronic documentation in .pdf form is essential.

You can put all 20 or so downloaded documents into a single folder on your computer and then use Adobe Reader search facility to search all the documents at the same time for a particular phrase. It gives you all the references in one results panel and then you just step through them.

When it comes to finding information, .PDF stands for "Pretty Damn Fast".

Rob

Totally agree with you Rob. I mostly do read the quick start manual completely, so I basicly know what the knobs are for, and then just go do what you want. And if I get stuck, I'll try to find it in the manual (PDF), or ask the forum!!

Korg workstations have traditionally come with two manuals. The Operation or Basic Guide and the Parameter Guide. The former is intended to be read cover to cover, and the latter should be used for reference. If I understand correctly the Param Guide is no longer distributed as paper copy, but only as a PDF, which is probably more appropriate since it is a reference manual.

Reading the manual is boring, but the up side is that you'll know how to get the most out of the machine you just dropped a couple of grand on ;-)
