Balkan musicians would probably considers M50 more appealing than M3, because Karma isn't very suitable for what we play, so lack of it wouldn't be a big minus.
6 banks of sounds is also suitable enough.

But lack of sampler will definitely be a turn-off. We play specific acoustic instrument Korg never made multisamples of, that's why sampler is essential for our music. I can't figure why Korg decided to eliminate this, I would say basic and maybe most important, feature from new keyboard when every previous in Triton line had it, like Sani said.

No one will buy that keyboard here if it stays this way.

I am not sure if my memory serves me correctly, wasn't the LE originally released sampler-less. (Sorry may not be a word)

I seem to remember that it was an add on expansion.

Maybe this is the way Korg are thinking of going again to keep the price of the M50 down for those who don't need it.

it is always a tradeoff ....

korg have to keep price low and have to create a workstation with a specific market niche not overlapped with other korg WS, hence some features have to be sacrified...

probably it all depends either on costs (e.g. maybe leaving multisample reduce costs more than leaving sequencer) or on marketing requirements (e.g. maybe korg MKT assumes sequencer is best than sampler for sell)

there is also on release an 88 key variety ... not sure if its weighted yet though ( Probably is ... )

I just hope for those who buy it, that the keys are better than on the LE.

maybe are the same of M3 but don't think so. hope are not the same of x50

The new M 50 really looks great!!

That's true....so the M50 may have sampling as an option.

There are many people out there, however, who never use sampling features on a workstation.

It looks like the new M50 is going after a specific price point to reach a market that has less money to put toward a keyboard. The trade off is some features have to be abandoned to achieve that price point. Its a yin and yang thang.

True. The M50 does not have KARMA, for example. However, I have somewhat rectified that situation with the announcement of the impending release of KARMA M50 Software. So if you don't mind using a computer, you can have the same KARMA engine as the M3, and the same sounds; and use it with your M50.

The M50 appears to be a very good affordable workstation.
And I think I could like the double arpegiator more than the un-editable-patterns of the Karma beast. :p

Correct, no aftertouch in the M50. It is based on a different keybed than the TR.

But when you make these comparisons please note where we put all the money/cost for the M50 as compared to the TR:

4x the ROM
larger touchView interface
improved synthesis and the full effects (not just 1 insert FX)

Of course there are more features as well, but I'm not trying to "spin" you with all the Marketing-speak I am capable of...
