We used an EMX for a while, but got rid of it because it was such a slippery slope to doing generic beats. Our goal was to keep things more abstract.

The first set with it went well though. Check it out: http://www.thecasualdistractions.com/se ... 2008-12-26.

I make hip hop beats sometimes but i mostly make Dubstep and Drum and Bass with my machines...but yea, i do make a lot of house tracks, cause it's an exceptional dance music machine, but i do make some ambient stuff with it and try to do some experimental stuff with it

I just got my electribe last week. It's awesome!!! It gives me that rhythmic backing that I need to keep my music from being completely incoherent.

You ask if anyone makes non-dance music. I love Trance & would like to make some, but my music seems to fall into the category of 'Ambient'. The electribe is great for even a slower tempo and that gives you more space for the effects. I have been trying to arrange/create music for 2 years and it has been difficult, because music without lyrics seems to be so free-form that I can't figure out how to make it Non-boring.

I wish this forum let you upload songs, but the only way I can share my track is my Myspace.

Click on the song "Misty". First song done with Electribe, plus Alesis Micron.
