Effectively a giant Nintendo DS. Not a bad idea at all. Highly configurable touch interface plus a large high def viewport that's set at a better angle for general viewing.

Yeah like this:

Although I'd personally make the resolution a bit lower and really maximize the usable space for the task at hand.

I saw Slate Digital Raven and was not impressed with it for may reasons. I better use mouse and keyboard.SanderXpander wrote:You've obviously never used a touch enabled DAW on a large touch enabled monitor. One isn't completely replaced by the other. Fine cuts and edits remain better with mouse and key commands, but navigation (and zooming) and fader/knob adjustment is soooo much quicker and more intuitive with touch enabled. I know you're an Apple fanboy but Apple is definitely getting into the touch market, don't worry. Then all Apple fans will pretend Apple invented it :p
Here are few of them.
1)For example the display is huge but real a state is only 1080p.
2)Not the best displey in the world.( I would enjoy high end display even if i was not a professional in this field as if i would enjoy high end sound quality but i do not have to be musician.).
3)Mouse is more precise then you finger.
I think if you works for hours touch screen will be difficult thing.
Mouse and keyboard are much better thing because they lay on the table but with touch screen you hand must float in the air.

That's the point of laying the touch screen flat, or at a slight angle. Well nobody is forcing you but Apple will for sure develop touch support for OSX. Having used a combination of touch and mouse I will say it's one of the nicest workflow you can have. Again, the point isn't at all to replace the mouse. Arguing "I like a mouse because it is more precise" is missing the point. For those things where precision is preferred, you use the mouse. But pinch zooming, swipe navigation and simple fader movements or even tool selection (button presses) touch is sooo much faster and more intuitive. Look at Kronos. For some things the dial is best, for others a fader, and for yet others definitely the touch screen. I always use two hands for editing.
