(not sure if that's a joke on words or shot at my samples...)

Joke on words! I would never take a cheap shot at someones samples, seems way to much time is involved with putting them together for that! Sorry for the confusion.

Regardless of the debate:
Busch, congrats, thank you for the excellent sample!
Jim, thank you for the great Incognito link!
When imitating "real" instruments (not synths) workstations can provide a good compromise - depending on instrument type. Keyboard instruments can be imitated the best (not surprising), percussive instruments or sounds are usually very good, too. Sounds with relatively stronger attack can also work.
Other than that - like solo woodwinds, for example - is extremely difficult to imitate convincingly. (Of course context and talent counts much, as Peter explains.) And a breath controller seems to be essential.
Kronos doesn't have a breath controller. This would make it too expensive. (But I admit, something like a VL-1 would be GOOD.) Finally, why don't you hire a real musician with a "tube"

as Cello suggests? It sounds and looks the best! Much better than a weird keyboard guy with something in his mouth...
PS. If you want to chew something, try the talkbox instead. Amazing and unique sound.

I guess I should have mentioned right before I read your psot I had a spam email trying to sell a viagra patch! Then I read above and about spit soda all over the screen. No you just need to knock out a great viagra patch, lots of swelling overtones, for the Kronos!

It can respond to one via MIDI, though!

Yes, thank you. Do you know about an audio/video example showing OASYS/Kronos with a breath controller? I haven't found one.

Midi Solutions makes a module that uses the Yamaha breath controllers to send midi to any keyboard. It can be programmed to send expression, volume, and other cc events.
