With the sampler hack i think korg lost a lot of money in e2s sales, so i understand if a new os for these is not a priority. Cheap as they are there cant be that big a profit margin on them

I think very few people really know about the hack to be honest. We're all fanboys so of course we do. But a lot of people have been asking me about the electribe and sampler from my youtube videos, and when I mention the hack almost no one has any idea what I'm talking about.

Maybe one person did out of 25-30?

Still the Grey ones only been available for a year now!

Electribe Sampler 2 (on-the-fly sampling / re-sampling)

1) Sample on-the-fly, you know, from source/signal (aux in) to pad and immediately play that sound with pads, zero latency. as it is now, you can sample a sound, yes, but then you have to stop play back, save it, then you have to assign it to a pad, exit all the menus then continue back to what you were doing... Same thing for re-sampling - you shouldn't have to stop everything to scoop up sounds.

1.5) As-is, it's an open input rompler/beat machine/sample-player...

2) Maybe this thing really just needs more RAM to be able to handle more actions at once...

2.5) Memory might then be an contending issue, if it'll have to handle more code to make it sample-on-the-fly. So then just have the recording drop immediately onto the SD card - my camera does it, my field recorder does it, the Android phones do it.

2.75) Firmware doesn't even need to be invented.

3) RAM and ROM are what's stopping this thing from doing all the other functions people are dreaming up. Once there's more memory to upgrade the firmware (code), it'll be able to handle more essential code for the machine to function without error. Perhaps it needs to be upgraded from a 24bit processor to a 32bit processor or 64bit processor. Now THAT would lead the industry!

4) When it's beyond what people can imagine, people will flock to buy it, see/hear it on stages without a computer and the crowd will want to buy it. When more people start buying it, it will be able to be made in larger quantities and more people will want it as its' continually being upgraded.

4.5) If the company needs more incentive to sell more machines, perhaps the model of 'make the customer/consumer happy' (without marketing lies) would be a good start.

5) I wrote to Korg about all this when I first got the machine... they never responded back. I saved it all along with the time-stamps. ;)

I'd like a "play sample on card" ability, so that I can audition samples before loading/assigning it. Now, you have to load it and then play. Slow.

Long-term wish: load/save samples directly over USB.

For the guys here that took the E2S apart what is stopping us from switching out the ram like n old samplers/ computers? Will the OS not recognize a bigger RAM chip?

its soldered on and no the OS wouldn't recognize it.

Electribe is NOT a computer....
