Will kronos 1/X users get the Berlin piano when buying New Kronos Sound Pack vol2?

Post by Drummond »

In the soundpack page they say: New KRONOS Sound Pack Vol.2 gives all of the KRONOS3 preload contents.

Will kronos 1/X users get the Berlin piano when buying New Kronos Sound Pack vol2?
It is listed in programs list and Korg mentions KRS15, but will the samples/multisample be there?
Has anyone with kronos 1/X bought it and can clarify this?

No, so you would need to buy this sample set also (EXs17). Also, as we mentioned here in other threads the OS 3.2 upgrade will reduce your free RAM by about 2 %. Proceed only if you agree with this.

But there is no information on the sales page that the upgrade will be complete ONLY for kronos 2 users! If it says 'gives all of the KRONOS3 preload contents' they have to include it ALL. Is Korg making a false statement?

I doubt they purposely made a false statement, but since a few years now Korg people don't care much about service and customer loyalty. They instead concentrate on toy-like inexpensive products. Looking at this latest Kronos OS 3.2 (or before that the Nautilus without AT, then after numerous complaints with AT, etc.) shows how disconnected and uninspired their R&D staff is.

So it is not surprising that they didn't even bother or remember K1/KX users don't have all the multisamples present on the K2/K3 to use the new sound pack. They also forgot to mention in the OS 3.2 upgrade instructions that going ahead will reduce your available RAM (!) - something quite important if you often load your Kronos with many multisamples/libraries.

IMHO a better way is to download the K3 PCG file, keep the 3.1.4 OS for maximum RAM and only buy the libraries you think you really want. Unless they happen to be available only in the new sound pack.

Indeed the best solution for Kronos X/2 , Kronos 1 needs hardware Ram upgrade to 3 GB due to support 1969 Mb of user Ram.
This new Sound pack works to any Kronos OS , only some custom icons might be missing and you also do not have to load
Kronos 3 PCG , Sound pack's PCG has only Programs & Combinations with reference to included EXs so you can maintain your
rest setup.

Hope this helps
