1. After I do FACTORY RESTORE in OS 1.4.0, pa5x turns off.
In OS 1.3.0(1) pa5 did not turn off. Is this a new feature?

2. The problem with the style from the Dance category has not been solved.
Namely in the original style,
in the category Dance "What Is Dance" / var.4,
after the 4th measure there is silence for 4 measures,
when pressing the chord m7(b5). OS 1.4.0. New pa5x. Now the DIM chord does not sound either. This is only the beginning.

No, it's not according to the Pa5X OS Update and Reset (EFGISC).pdf page 2.
Cheers 🥂

When changing different styles in OS 1.4.0 Korg pa5x noise is heard. Very bad noise / click in the headphones. Most likely in the speakers too, but I haven't checked through the speakers yet. It would be good without it. Personally, I went back to OS 1.3.0. The same key, the same headphones, the same power cables, the same UPS..

NEW TEST:
When random switches from one style to another in stop mode, an unpleasant click is heard in the headphones. I did not check it in the speakers. The higher the volume, the stronger the click.
!!!
These clicks are heard only in the last added styles OS 1.4 0 , in the category: Classic Pop (page 4) , Dance (page 9) , Funk & Blues (page 7,8)

Problem with changing sounds for Upper 2, 3 and Lower using the "Search" function in the "Keys" screen. (Works only for Upper 1).
The portamento also must be changed, or must added an option to works like Triton, M3, Kronos.

I have not experienced this issue. There is no glitch or crackling when changing the styles (includes both old and new ones).

Observed performance discrepancies between 1.4.0 and 1.3.1.
Observation indicates that OS version 1.4.0 presents synchronization challenges with Fill4 > style: "First Kid Rock" (Player1) and Player2 sync (Killer Rock).

Fill4 exhibits noticeable hesitations for "First Kid Rock" within the beat if you don't hit the right moment (foot switch); this is not present in OS version 1.3.1. Consequently, I have reverted to OS version 1.3.1, where this issue is not present.

The importance for me here is that I am in the middle of writing a new tune.

I have seen many posts from Antony on this forum, and I am pleased and relieved that he has contributed to this thread.

By contrast with him, I am a total novice, using my Pa5X simply for my own enjoyment over the last 20 or so months. However, I do have an IT background, and I am well aware that it is necessary to rule out any possibility that a supposed "bug" is a function of an inadequate or "unclean" test environment. Antony makes it clear that we can know for certain there is a bug only after a factory reset and a clean installion of the new OS.

Like some other forum members, I have been wondering if it is wiser to wait for 1.4.1 before updating my OS. Antony has found problems with aspects of the Pa5X that I barely understand, far less use. And the only time I will ever have played a major 11th chord will have been by accident. As he says, these are features that advanced users must have. However, he makes no comment about the more basic features of the instrument, which goes a long way towards reassuring me that I can probably safely upgrade to 1.4.0.

For my use case, Antony's contribution to this thread is easily the most important. I'm very grateful to him.

AntonySharmman wrote: Sun Aug 03, 2025 10:04 am Flaws in existing Pa5X features after OS v.1.4

For all the rest mentioned by users as bugs , I can replicate none using factory resources or custom resources that were
exclusively created in Pa5X.
Users that want to confirm flaws , make a factory restore in OS v.1.4 load nothing and use factory resources to replicate them.
Pa5X OS 1.4 resources have updated the source code of Styles & KBD sets due to meet new customization
this means if you want to downgrade to an earlier Pa5X OS then you have to make a factory restore and vice versa.
I have meticulously followed to the provided instructions above, and I must, regrettably, express my strong disagreement with your assessment AntonySharmman...

Following a comprehensive afternoon testing today of both Operating-Systems (1.3.1. and 1.4.0.) I have unfortunately continued to identify a performance discrepancy with Fill4 with the styles given in my post. Specifically, the latching behavior exhibits inconsistencies, including hesitations, contingent upon the foot switch activation point within the beat, and this contrasts the smooth and flawless operation observed in OS 1.3.1, regardless of my activation timing. So, unfortunately, this behavior is notably different from the performance of version 1.4.0. which has all been done without my backup file...

Process:
OS 1.3.1. Sequences of action: > start in VAR2 > Footswitch 1: FILL4 > VAR3 > Footswitch 2: Transpose up (#)
Finish sequence of action before the Fill4 finishes (Immediate setting) flawlessly.

Now I repeat the above sequence of actions for 1.4.0. (Immediate setting) not flawless; sometimes it will be, and sometimes it will not.

I have upgraded to the 1.4.0 and did a clean reboot. NO custom samples or sounds installed and everything seems to work well so far. NO crashes, freezing etc. So I am assured that the OS itself is clean and dependable. I later installed the localized AddOn from Korg and even that is working without any flaw. So overall after a few days of playing with the updated OS and NO custom stuff installed, the OS works flawlessly and there are no crashes etc.
Well I do not have need for 11,13 etc chords since I do not play jazz, so it does not matter for me, but maybe the other folks may need it.
Overall I can say it is safe to upgrade to 1.4.0 and enjoy the latest features and stability the update offers.

I have only referred some minor issues above , none is a bug just flaws or omitted functions.
In general lines , Pa5X is working flawlessly for first time in deep level serious bugs in sampler engine
and styles players have been resolved.
Now for first time you can see any compatible Style play exactly as it has been programmed in CUE mode
and multiple measures like 9/8 , 7/8 , 5/8 in the same Style , for first time it plays in sync between elements
exchange , following programmed CUE , as also sync of such Styles between players.

Always update your keyboard to the latest updates , it sounds silly to wait for others to reveal bugs
try yourself and decide , in the end of day you will use it for sure.

In style edit mode, when go to meny, edit, delete all, when I delete some element like intro 1, all events and all cv, it delete all but intro 1 still have colored button, like there is something and you cant change time signature like on empty style element. When you save style and play it there is still colored button but no sound. When you go to style edit again then finaly there is nothing on intro 1 and you must to save it again to stay like that.
