Korg Trinity V3 sounds/samples for PA 1000

Post by Ninosky »

Hello all!

Am I able to play or use Trinity V3 sounds on a PA 1000?

Like, can I use Trinity V3 PCGs on a PA 1000? I'm not talking about using stock sounds but a custom set from Trinity to import into PA 1000.

Thank you in advance!

I'm not sure what you're implying. Can you explain?

You will find the sounds here

My question is whether or not Trinity sounds/samples can work with a Pa-1000.

I'm familiar with the bonusware section and still don't know what your comment has to do with my question. Can you explain?

Yes, you can use it according to the manual for the PA1000, because this topic is described, but without distinguishing stock sounds or custom sets from Trinity:

As an alternative to loading individual samples, you can import sounds or multisamples and their assigned samples, as described.
Importing samples, multisamples and Sounds:
You can import Sounds and multisamples (including the contained samples) in formats other than the native Pa-Series format.
You can import the following file formats:
PCG KORG’s native Program format, used by the Triton series of workstations.
The file name has the .pcg extension. Note that Drum Kits cannot be imported.
KMP KORG’s native multisample format, used by the Trinity and Triton series of workstations. The file name has the .kmp extension.

Instead of calling several times to explain an answer made via a short comment, believe in Pa1000-manual if you do not believe NativeAngels factual comment "there are Triton sounds that work with Pa1000".
kind regards

Actually, no... the manual does not list Trinity PCGs as compatible with PA1000.

I think the confusion in this thread came from the fact that the OP asked about Trinity PCG files, and the answers were dealing with Triton, which is not the same.

Based on the manual, the PA1000 recognizes Triton PCG files, but not Trinity PCG files. (PCG files are often incompatible between different models.)

However, the PA1000 does recognize Trinity and Triton KSF files. But that only gives you sample data, not programs. So PA1000 has better compatibility with Triton (PCG programs and KSF sample data) than it does with Trinity (KSF sample data only). Trinity PCG files appear to be incompatible.

Here's the info you quoted, with a little more visual clarity from the manual...

also consistent with this from elsewhere in the manual, which I think makes the distinction even more explicit, no compatibility here with Trinity programs (PCG), only Triton...
